the
sentences
and
try
to
find
out
the
patterns
and
meanings.
Explain
the
rules
of
adverbial
clauses
of
condition:
"If"
means
"on
the
condition
that"
and
introduces
a
possible
situation
and
its
result.
"Unless"
has
a
negative
meaning
and
is
equivalent
to
"if...not".
Give
more
examples
and
have
students
translate
them
to
reinforce
the

Reason
Present
sentences
with
"because",
"since"
and
"as"
on
the
screen,
e.g.
"I
didn't
go
shopping
because
I

"Since
it

the
party."
Ask
students
to
compare
these
sentences
and
discuss
the
differences
in
usage.
Explain
the
rules:
"Because"
is
the
most
common
and
emphasizes
the
cause;
"Since"
is
often
used
when
the
reason
is
known
or
obvious;
"As"
is
similar
to
"since"
and
is
more
formal.
Provide
some
exercises
for
students
to
choose
the
correct
conjunction
to
complete
the
sentences.Step

Practice

Group

Divide

into
groups
of
four.
Give
each
group
a
set
of
cards
with
sentences,

which
contain
