exhibitspropertiesofbothaliquidandagas.Inapplicationssuchasmovingaturbine,this
isextremelyusefulsincethegas-likestateofferslessresistancewhiletheliquid-likestate
providesgreaterpushpower.
Thepowergenerationprocessworkslikethis:TheCO₂isfirstpressurizedintoa
supercriticalstate.ThenthesCO₂passesthroughaheatexchanger,absorbingheatfroman
externalheatsource,anditstemperaturerisesto400—600℃withasubstantialincreasein
internalenergy.Afterthat,itentersaturbineandexpandsrapidly,drivingittomoveata
highspeedandtransformingthermal(热的)energyintomechanicalenergy,whichisthen
furtherturnedintoelectricalenergyforoutput.TheCO₂remainsinasupercriticalstate
throughouttheentireprocess,withnophasechangeloss.
