largenumberofgenes(2,770)wereworkingdifferentlyinthenorthernsnails,with64%ofthese

genesbeingmoreactive.Thesedistinctgenepatternsallowedresearcherstoaccuratelytellifababy

snail'sparentswerefromthenorthorsouthjustbylookingatitsDNA.Theseresultsstrongly
