researchersdesigned11virtualconferenceroomswithvaryinglevelsofnatureviews.Theythenassigned

412participantsrandomlytothesedigitalofficesandmeasuredtheirstressandrestorationlevelsbefore

andaftercompletingchallengingtasksunderpressure.

Agreenerydoseofabout20%-meaningplantsarevisibleabout20%ofthetimeasonelooks

around-hadthestrongestresponseinrestorationandsenseofbelongingforparticipants,theresearchers

found.However,whengreeneryincreasedto60%,stresslevelsrose.

Plus,thestudyhighlightedthesignificanceofconnectiontonature.Ifparticipantsreportedan

increasedfeelingofconnectiontonature,theyharvestedmorewell-beingbenefits.Butwithoutthat

connection,thegreeneryhadlittleeffectonthem.“Youdon'tjustputabunchofnatureinsidethespace,”
