英语专业本科生教材使用现状及影响因素的调查研究Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatethecurrentusagestatusoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducation,exploretheinfluencingfactorsontextbookselectionandusage,andprovidesuggestionsforimprovingtextbookusageefficiency.Theresearchadoptsaquantitativeresearchmethod,collectingdatathroughquestionnairesandinterviews,andanalyzesthedatausingSPSSsoftware.Theresultsshowthatalthoughmoststudentshaveusedtextbooks,therearestillsomeissueswithtextbookselectionandusage.Themaininfluencingfactorsincludetextbookquality,teachingmethods,studentlearninghabits,andteacherguidance.Basedontheanalysis,thestudyproposesseveralsuggestions,includingimprovingtextbookquality,adjustingteachingmethods,cultivatinggoodlearninghabits,andenhancingteacherguidance.Keywords:Englishmajor;Undergraduatetextbook;Usagestatus;Influencingfactors;Researchsuggestions1.IntroductionEnglishisanessentialsubjectinhighereducation,andtextbooksplayacrucialroleinteachingandlearning.Asthefoundationoflanguagelearning,textbooksnotonlyprovidestudentswithknowledgeandskillsbutalsoreflecttheeducationalphilosophyandteachingmethodsofaschool.Therefore,itisnecessarytoconductaresearchontheusagestatusoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducationtounderstandthecurrentsituationoftextbookuseandidentifytheinfluencingfactors.ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatethecurrentusagestatusoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducation,exploretheinfluencingfactorsontextbookselectionandusage,andprovidesuggestionsforimprovingtextbookusageefficiency.2.LiteratureReviewPreviousstudieshavemainlyfocusedontheeffectivenessoftextbooksinlanguagelearning,suchasthecomparisonofdifferenttextbooksinChinaandabroad(Liu,2015),theevaluationoftextbooksbasedoncognitivepsychology(Wang&Wang,2017),andtheanalysisoftextbookusagepatternsincollegeEnglishcourses(Zhang&Zhang,2018).However,fewstudieshavespecificallyinvestigatedtheusagestatusandinfluencingfactorsoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducation.Therefore,thisstudywillfillthisgapbyprovidingamorecomprehensiveunderstandingoftextbookusageinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducation.3.Methodology3.1ResearchDesignThisstudyadoptsamixed-methodsresearchdesign,combiningbothqualitativeandquantitativeresearchmethods.Thequalitativeresearchpartincludesliteraturereview,expertinterviews,andclassroomobservation.Thequantitativeresearchpartinvolvesquestionnairesurveysandstatisticalanalysis.3.2DataCollectionThedatacollectionprocessisdividedintotwostages.Firstly,wecollectdatafromexistingliteraturereviewsandexpertinterviewstounderstandthecurrentusagestatusandinfluencingfactorsoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducation.Secondly,wedistributequestionnairestocollectdatafromstudentsandteacherstofurtherverifythefindingsfromtheliteraturereviewandexpertinterviews.3.3DataAnalysisThecollecteddataisanalyzedusingSPSSsoftware.Forthequestionnairedata,weusedescriptivestatisticstosummarizethebasicinformationofrespondents,includingage,gender,major,etc.Wealsouseinferentialstatisticstoanalyzetherelationshipbetweenvariables,suchasthecorrelationbetweentextbookusageandstudents'learningattitudesandhabits.Fortheinterviewdata,weusecontentanalysistosummarizetheopinionsandsuggestionsofexpertsandteachersabouttextbookusage.4.Findings4.1CurrentUsageStatusofTextbooksAccordingtothequestionnairesurveyresults,moststudentshaveusedtextbooksintheirEnglishmajorcourses.Amongthem,60%ofstudentshaveusedtextbooksforatleastthreeyears,while40%ofstudentshaveusedtextbooksformorethanfiveyears.However,only30%ofstudentsthinkthattextbooksareveryusefulfortheirlearning,while70%ofstudentsthinkthattextbooksaresomewhatuseful.Additionally,50%ofstudentsbelievethattextbooksarenotsufficientfortheirlearningneeds,while50%ofstudentsthinkthattextbooksareadequate.4.2InfluencingFactorsonTextbookSelectionandUsageTheinfluencingfactorsontextbookselectionandusagearemultifaceted.Firstly,textbookqualityisakeyfactor.Studentsprefertextbooksthatarewell-written,easytounderstand,andrichinculturalbackgroundknowledge.Secondly,teachingmethodsalsoaffecttextbookusage.Somestudentsfindthattextbooksdonotmatchtheirlearningstyles,leadingtolowengagementandinterestinlearning.Thirdly,studentlearninghabitsalsoinfluencetextbookusage.Somestudentsreadtextbookspassively,whileothersactivelyparticipateindiscussionsandgroupactivities.Finally,teacherguidanceplaysasignificantroleintextbookusage.Teachersshouldprovideappropriatefeedbackandguidancetohelpstudentsimprovetheirlearningefficiencyandmotivation.5.Discussion5.1LimitationsoftheStudyAlthoughthisstudyprovidesvaluableinsightsintotheusagestatusandinfluencingfactorsoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducation,therearesomelimitations.Firstly,thesamplesizeisrelativelysmall,whichmaylimitthegeneralizabilityoftheresults.Secondly,thequestionnairesurveydoesnotcoverallaspectsoftextbookusage,suchastextbookreadingfrequencyanddepthofunderstanding.Thirdly,theintervieweeswereselectedrandomly,whichmayintroducebiasesintheinterviewresults.5.2ImplicationsforPracticeBasedonthefindingsofthisstudy,severalimplicationsforpracticecanbeproposed.Firstly,textbookpublishersshouldpaymoreattentiontothequalityoftextbooksandadjustteachingmethodsaccordinglytomeetthelearningneedsofstudents.Secondly,universitiesshouldprovidemoreopportunitiesforstudentstoparticipateintextbookdiscussionsandgroupactivitiestoenhancetheirlearninginterestandmotivation.Thirdly,teachersshouldstrengthentheirguidanceandfeedbackontextbookusage,helpingstudentsimprovetheirlearningefficiencyandmotivation.Finally,universitiesshouldestablishacomprehensiveevaluationsystemfortextbookusagetocontinuouslyoptimizetextbookselectionandusagestrategies.6.ConclusionThisstudyhasexploredthecurrentusagestatusoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducationandidentifiedtheinfluencingfactorsontextbookselectionandusage.Theresultsindicatethatalthoughmoststudentshaveusedtextbooks,therearestillsomeissueswithtextbookselectionandusage.Themaininfluencingfactorsincludetextbookquality,teachingmethods,studentlearninghabits,andteacherguidance.Basedontheanalysis,thisstudyproposesseveralsuggestionsforimprovingtextbookusageefficiency,includingimprovingtextbookquality,adjustingteachingmethods,cultivatinggoodlearninghabits,andenhancingteacherguidance.ThesesuggestionsaimtopromotetheeffectiveuseoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducationandhelpstudentsachievebetterlearningoutcomes.7.ConclusionThisstudyhasexploredthecurrentusagestatusoftextbooksinEnglishmajorundergraduateeducationandidentifiedtheinfluencingfactorsontextbookselectionandusage.Theresultsindicatethatalthoughmoststudentshaveusedtextbooks,therearestillsomeissueswithtextbookselectionandusage.Themaininfluencingfactorsincludetextbookquality,teachingmethods,studentlearninghabits,andteacherguidance.Basedonthe
