Troy
a

place

just
a

Schliemann

city
of

around
the

learned

languages,

lot

his
late
forties,
he
finally
had
enough
money
to
follow

childhood

traveled
through
Greece

Turkey
to
search
for
Troy.
Hissarlik,
an
ancient
Turkish
site,
caught
his
eye.

1871,
he
started
digging
at
Hissarlik
with
a
team
of
local
workers.
He
soon

impatient

the
slow

To
dig
faster,
he
used
dynamite.
This
sped
up
the

but
also
caused
serious
damage

by
piece,
they
uncovered

findings

Hissarlik
had
