Oneinthreesurveyparticipantsreportedregularlyhavingnightmares.Around40%said

thatlate-nighteatingorspecificfoodsaffectedhowtheysleptingeneral.Only5.5%of

participantssaidtheybelievedwhattheyateaffectedtheirdreams.Butwithinthisgroup,the

foodsblamed(负有责任)forbaddreamsweresweetsanddairyproducts,likecheese.

Theresearchersalsofoundthatpoorsleepandnightmareswerelinkedtofoodallergies

(过敏)andlactoseintolerance(乳糖不耐症).Thisprobablyhappensbecausewhenpeople

withlactoseintoleranceeatdairy,theyoftenfeelstomachpain(acommonproblem).This

stomachdiscomfortcanmakeithardtosleepwell,whichmaythenleadtomorebad
