基于KWL模式培养初中生英语阅读课堂提问能力的实验研究Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatetheeffectivenessoftheK-W-L(Knowledge,Wants,Learning)modelinenhancingjuniorhighschoolstudents'abilitytoaskquestionsduringEnglishreadingclasses.TheK-W-Lmodelisawidelyusedinstructionalframeworkthatemphasizesactivelearningandstudentengagementbyguidingteacherstofacilitateknowledgeacquisition,clarifystudents'needs,andguidetheirlearning.ThisresearchfocusesontheapplicationofthismodelinEnglishreadinginstruction,specificallyfocusingonhowitcanbeutilizedtoenhancestudents'question-askingskills.Methodology:Thestudyemployedaquasi-experimentaldesign,involvingtwoparallelgroupsofjuniorhighschoolstudentswhowererandomlyassignedtoeithertheexperimentalgrouporthecontrolgroup.BothgroupsunderwentregularEnglishreadinginstructionwithoutanysignificantdifferencesintheteachingmethods.However,theexperimentalgroupwasinstructedtoapplytheK-W-Lmodelduringtheirreadingsessions,whilethecontrolgroupcontinuedwithtraditionalteachingstrategies.Thedatacollectionmethodincludedpre-testandpost-testassessmentsforbothgroups,aswellassemi-structuredinterviewswithteachersandstudentstogatherqualitativedata.Results:Theresultsshowedastatisticallysignificantimprovementintheexperimentalgroup'sEnglishreadingcomprehensionscorescomparedtothecontrolgroupafterimplementingtheK-W-Lmodel.Additionally,therewasanotableincreaseinthenumberofquestionsaskedbytheexperimentalgroupduringreadingsessions.TeachersreportedthattheK-W-Lmodelencouragedmoreactiveparticipationfromstudents,leadingtoamoreinteractiveandengagingclassroomenvironment.Studentsalsoexpressedgreatersatisfactionwiththelearningexperience,indicatingthattheyfoundthemodelmoreappealingandeffective.Conclusion:ThefindingsofthisstudysuggestthattheK-W-Lmodelcaneffectivelyenhancejuniorhighschoolstudents'abilitytoaskquestionsduringEnglishreadingclasses.Themodelencouragesactivelearningandstudentengagement,whichareessentialcomponentsofeffectiveteachingandlearning.Byapplyingthismodel,teacherscancreateamoredynamicandinteractiveclassroomenvironment,wherestudentsfeelmoremotivatedandengagedintheirlearning.Therefore,itisrecommendedthateducatorsincorporatetheK-W-Lmodelintotheirteachingpracticestoimprovestudents'readingcomprehensionandoverallacademicperformance.Inconclusion,theK-W-Lmodelhasproventobeaneffectivetoolinenhancingjuniorhighschoolstudents'abilitytoaskquestionsduringEnglishreadingclasses.Thefindingsofthisstudysuggestthatbyencouragingactivelearningandstudentengagement,teacherscancreateamoredynamicandinteractiveclassroomenvironment,wherestudentsfeelmoremotivatedandengagedintheirlearning.Therefore,itisrecommendedthateducatorsincorporatetheK-W-Lmodelintotheirteachingpracticestoimprovestudents'readingcomprehensionandoverallacademicperformance.Furtherresearchcouldexplorethelong-termeffectsofthismodelonstudents'languageproficiencyandcriticalthinkingskills.Additionally,itwouldbebeneficialtoexaminehowthismodelcanbeadaptedforothersubjectareasoreducationallevelstodetermineitsbroaderapp
