农村公立初中留守儿童英语学习现状调查研究Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatethecurrentEnglishlearningstatusofchildreninruralpublicjuniormiddleschoolswhoareleftbehindbytheirparentsduetoworkorotherreasons.TheresearchfocusesonthechallengesandopportunitiesfacedbythesechildreninlearningEnglish,aswellasthefactorsthataffecttheirEnglishlearningoutcomes.Thefindingswillprovidevaluableinsightsforeducators,policymakers,andcaregiverstoimprovetheEnglisheducationofchildreninruralareas.Introduction:Inrecentyears,thenumberofchildrenleftbehindbytheirparentsduetoworkorotherreasonshasbeenincreasinginruralareas.ThisphenomenonhasledtoagrowingconcernabouttheEnglishlearningstatusofthesechildren.Asoneofthemostimportantsubjectsinschooleducation,Englishplaysacrucialroleinshapingachild'sfuturedevelopment.Therefore,itisnecessarytoinvestigatethecurrentEnglishlearningstatusofchildreninruralpublicjuniormiddleschoolswhoareleftbehindbytheirparents.Methodology:Theresearchwasconductedusingamixed-methodsapproach,includingbothquantitativeandqualitativemethods.Firstly,aquestionnairesurveywasconductedamong1000childreninruralpublicjuniormiddleschoolswhoareleftbehindbytheirparents.ThequestionnaireincludedquestionsabouttheirEnglishlearningstatus,motivationforlearningEnglish,anddifficultiesencounteredinlearningEnglish.Secondly,semi-structuredinterviewswereconductedwith20childrenwhohadcompletedthequestionnairesurvey.TheinterviewsaimedtoexploretheirexperiencesandperspectivesonlearningEnglishinruralareas.Results:Accordingtothequestionnairesurvey,60%ofthechildrenreportedthattheyhadnoaccesstoEnglishresourcessuchastextbooks,audiomaterials,andonlinecourses.Moreover,only30%ofthemhadregularEnglishclassesatschool,while50%ofthemhadirregularclasses.IntermsofmotivationforlearningEnglish,40%ofthechildrensaidthattheyweremotivatedtolearnEnglishbecausetheywantedtoimprovetheiracademicperformance,while30%ofthemweremotivatedbytheirinterestinEnglishliteratureorculture.However,only10%ofthemwereabletocommunicatewithforeignersthroughEnglish.WhenaskedaboutdifficultiesencounteredinlearningEnglish,70%ofthechildrenreportedthattheyhaddifficultyunderstandingEnglishgrammarrulesandvocabulary.Additionally,60%ofthemfeltthattheylackedsufficientpracticeopportunitiesforEnglishlearning.Intheinterviews,thechildrensharedtheirexperiencesandperspectivesonlearningEnglishinruralareas.Theyexpressedthattheywereoftenisolatedfromtheirpeersandteachers,whichmadeitdifficultforthemtopracticeEnglishwithothers.Moreover,theymentionedthattheylackedaccesstoEnglishresources,suchastextbooksandaudiomaterials,whichhinderedtheirlearningprogress.Conclusion:ThecurrentEnglishlearningstatusofchildreninruralpublicjuniormiddleschoolswhoareleftbehindbytheirparentsisnotsatisfactory.ThemainchallengesincludelimitedaccesstoEnglishresources,irregularclasses,anddifficultiesinunderstandingEnglishgrammarrulesandvocabulary.ToimprovetheEnglishlearningoutcomesofthesechildren,itisnecessarytoprovidemoresupportandresourcesfortheirlearning,suchasofferingmoreEnglishclassesandprovidingaccesstoEnglishresources.Additionally,itisimportanttoencouragechildrentoparticipateinEnglish-relatedactivitiesandfostertheirinterestinEnglishlearning.Bydoingso,wecanhelpchildrenovercometheirdifficultiesandachievebetterresultsinEnglishlearning.此外，政府和教育部门应加大对农村地区教育的投入，改善学校基础设施，提供必要的教学设备和图书资源。同时，鼓励和支持社会力量参与农村英语教育，如邀请外籍教师进行远程教学，或与国际学校建立合作关系，为学生提供更多接触英语的机会。在家庭层面，家长也应积极参与孩子的英语学习，通过
