2、 been there will probably say you havent been to Guilin until youve gone to Lijiang River. Hiking along the Lijiang River is a good choise.,Taking its sources from the Maoer Mountain in Xingan Country to the northeast of Guilin, Lijiang River flows by Guilin and Yangshuo and all the way along to emp

3、ty to Wuzhou. It has a stretch totaling 437 kilometers. The water stretches 83 kilometers from Guilin to Yangshuo. It is embellished by vivid reflections of scenery along the river and fertile lands covered in brocade or veiled in mists. To cruise along the Lijiang River no matter whether its fine o

4、r in rain you will find it fascinating in either case for it offers a different taste. Guilin is epilomized in its splendid scenery and hence it has for always been known as the “Fairyland on the Earth.” The landscape in verdancy, the rice fields in green and the colza in golden yellow flowers and l

5、uxuriant trees as well, all this will make you feel enchanted without thinking of return.,Day 1 Guilin to Yangdi Daxu In the morning, drive to Daxu. The ancient town of Daxu, initially built in the Ming Dynasty has a history of more than 500 years now. “Xu” in Chinese means a rural market, and the a

6、ncient town of Daxu is one of the four large rural markets in Guangxi Zhuang Automomous region. The street in the town is paved with the slates of lapis lazuli. Lined neatly on both sides of the street are the single-eaved storey buildings and they are all built of gray bricks and tiles, revealing a

7、 rich taste of local style and national feature. Striding over the water to the south of the market town is a single-arched stone bridge which was built over400years ago in the Ming Dynasty. Exquisitely structured and featuring a fluent linear it still retain the elegance as it was though the bridge

8、 has undergone a weathering and eater- erosion process of over 400 years.,The Crown Hill is a spectacular scene just after the cruise entering the precinct of the Yangshuo Country . As it looks very much like an ancient purple gold crown ,hence the name” Crown Hill” .,Secluded Recess in the Crown Hi

9、ll(冠岩):,Yang Dyke Village :,In the water-curtain cave opposite the river there is a waterfall gushing out, and dividing into a few cascades it pours into the Lijiang River.,The water washes over many lotus-petal like stalagmites , trirring up numerous nice-looking sprinkles . And moreover ,all round

10、 the waterfall plants are in verdancy and flowers in bloom, which look just like cheek and jaw with green bamboos in the Yangdi Village across the river ,forming a natural yet quite fascinating picture,On this hike, you will not run into many other travellers, so you will feel like you are on your o

11、wn. You follow the Lijiang river for a shot while, before walking into small villages where the children will scream “hello” to you. You will see the farmers working in the fields, ladies washing the vegetables or clothes, young children playing, and water buffaloes（水牛） wandering around and having a

12、 dip in the ponds to cool themselves down. The walk can take as long as you like as there are many different paths you can take.,There are many small guesthouses along the way and make an ideal place for a short rest in Yang Dyke Village or if you want a bit of solitude, you can also stay the night.

13、,Day 2 Yang Dyke Village to Xingping,This one is a favorite with everyone who does it. The hike follows paths which are beside the Lijiang River. This section of the river is regarded as the most spectacular of the Lijiang River. The you need to pay the 16 Yuan entrance fee which also covers the use

14、 of three local ferries to cross the Lijiang River. The walk takes as long as you want, but anything from 3 to 5 hours is the normal rate. During the walk, you will need to cross across the river three times as the path on the side you are on ends and continues on the other side. You will go past sm

15、all villages such as LangShi and Shangtong, and observe rural life at its best. This area has many landmarks including Nice Horses Fresco Hill, Snail Hill, Yellow Cloth Shoal, and Fishing Village which can be seen from the Li River cruise. You can walk up to Xingping along the River from here (aroun

16、d 5hrs).,Nice Horses Fresco Hill:,Standing in the river ahead is a very high precipice with a plain facade , interlacing on which are many lines in green, yellow and white and they seem to form a huge different colors and shapes and about this a poem goes like this: A steep hill looks like a picture

17、 since eon ago,自古山如画 And now the painting has turned to be a hill.而今画似山。 The picture seems to show nine horses on it,马图呈九首， Its really something wonderful in the world.奇物在人间。 How many horses does the picturesque hill actually have on it? It depends on your imagination to tell. A doggerel composed by

18、 the local people about it goes like this:”The horses telling man, the horses telling man, how many can you tell Id like to see? Standing out No.2 on the Yellow List should you be able to tell seven, but you are sure to be a No.1 scholar in the world provided you can name nine of them all out. ”（看马郎

19、，看马郎，敢问神马有几双？看出七匹中榜眼，能见九匹状元郎。）,Yellow Cloth Shoal:,Whoever has been to Lijiang River for tours will say that: of all the hills along the Lijiang Rive the most renowned is none other than the “ Nine horses Fresco Hill” but the most beautiful secenic spot is the “ Charming Reflections at the Yellow Cl

20、oth Shoal .” Sure the Yellow Cloth Shoal is derived from the fact that there is a yellow stone-slate lying flatly at the bottom of the river . Under the azure sky with white clouds scudding slowly by the hills there look very much like emerald hairpins or jadeite bamboo-shoots . while the peaks the

21、tufts of hair or green snail. The water surface round the spot is smooth as a mirror and so the reflections in the water seem to be more crystal-clear and charming , hence reputed as the “Charming Reflections at the Yellow Cloth Shoal.” Whenever a fishing-boat or a bamboo-raft plies into the water s

22、tretch the reflections by the shoal will turn out a series of pictures presenting an environment for different poetic moods and inspirations. Yuan Mei, a poet of Qing Dynasty ,described it like this :” For certain ,I saw tops of the Green Mountain, but strangely over them my boat is sailing. ”分明看见青山顶，船在青山顶上行。,Xingping:,Xingping ,lying by the north of Yangshuo county seat , is an old town with a history of over 1,700 years. It is also a place in which it epitomizes the creams of scenes along the
