Coke oven gas generally containshydrogen sulfide 4 8g/m3, ammonia 4 9g/m3, including Hydrogen Cyanide 0.5 1. 5g/m3.Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and its combustion products,Sulfur Dioxide(SO2) are toxicto humans, less than Hydrogen Cyanide. Nitrogen oxides are the combustion products ofHydrogen Cyanide and Ammonia , which are the main factors to cause the acid rain as well asHydrogen Sulfide , cyanide gas desulfurization and ammonia washing is mainly based on theneed of environmental protection.In addition, there are high requirements for the content ofsulfur in production of high-quality rolled steel. The presence of H2S in fuel gas , not onlycauterizes benzene system equipment, but also makes wash oil and water absorbing benzeneform emulsion ,preventing oil-water separation. Therefore, its important for the removal ofhydrogen sulfide to reducie air and water pollution ,enhance environmental protection and toreduce equipment corrosion.In order to prevent or reduce the damage of coal fuel on the environment and harmhuman health, gas in the sulfur must be taken off . However, for a company, when makinga choice on the gas purification process ,they should combine with their own situation andthe use of gas , as well as the purpose of desulfurization, and select the appropriate gasdesulfurization catalyst by comprehensive analysis and comparison from the investment,operating cost, the environment, cleaning indicator, equipment materials, controlrequirements, product structure and many other aspects.
