证明信通常的用处与特点。(一)凭证证明信的作用贵在证明，是持有者用以证明自己身份、经历或某事真实性的一种凭证，所以证明信的第一个特点就是它的凭证的作用。(二)书信体的格式证明信是一种专用书信，尽管证明信有好几种形式，但它的写法同书信的写法基本一致，它大部分采用书信体的格式。中文证明信不论是哪种形式的证明信，其结构都大致相同，一般都有标题、称呼、正文、署名和日期等构成。(一)标题证明信的标题通常有以下两种方式构成：1.单独以文种名作标题一般就是在第一行中间冠以“证明信”、“证明”字样。2.由文种名和事由共同构成一般也是写在第一行中间。如“关于同志情况(或问题)的证明”。(二)称呼要在第二行顶格写上受文单位名称或受文个人的姓名称呼，然后加冒号。有些供有关人员外出活动证明身份的证明信因没有固定的受文者，开头可以不写受文者称呼，而是在正文前用公文引导词“兹”引起正文内容。(三)正文正文要在称呼写完后另起一行，空两格书写。要针对对方所要求的要点写，要你证明什么问题就证明什么问题，其它无关的不写。如证明的是某人的历史问题，则应写清人名、何时、何地及所经历的事情；若要证明某一事件，则要写清参与者的姓名、身份，及其在此事件的地位、作用和事件本身的前因后果。也就是要写清人物、事件的本来面目。正文写完后，要另起一行，顶格写上“特此证明”四个字。也可直接在正文结尾处写出。(四)落款落款即署名和写明成文日期。要在正文的右下方写上证明单位或个人的姓名称呼，成文日期写在署名下另起一行，然后由证明单位或证明人加盖公章或签名、盖私章，否则证明信将是无效的。英语证明信常采用书信格式，但多略去收信人的姓名、地址和结束语。称呼用语多用“To whom it many concern”，意为“执事先生”“有关人士”“负责人”，但此项也可省去，直接开始正文。正文起首句多用This is to certify that结构。证明内容简洁明了，实事求是，不必多用客套语。正文右下方注明证明人头衔及姓名或证明机构名称。英语证明信的特点语言表达言简意赅信息完整证明信翻译原则进行相应的格式调整恰当使用目的语套语用词准确恰当证明信类型及样板在读证明证 明*同学，男， 1991年9月30 日出生，现就读于青岛第十九中学，是高二 (十)班在读生。 特此证明！青岛第十九中学 2009年 2 月23 日February 23rd, 2009To Whom It May Concern:This is to certify that Mr. *, male, born on September 30,1991, who came to our school in September 2007 as a senior high school student.
