a b s t r a c t 摘要 本研究根据韩礼德和哈桑( 1 9 7 6 ) 的理论观点“衔接在语篇连贯中起着重要 的作用，而连贯是形成语篇的最重要前提。”就衔接理论在英语翻译教学中的作 用进行了探索及对学生在翻译中不能正确掌握衔接词的现象进行了探究。论文作 者以1 9 9 7 、1 9 9 8 、1 9 9 9 、2 0 0 1 、2 0 0 3 、2 0 0 4 、2 0 0 6 以及，2 0 0 8 年的英语专业八 级( t e m - 8 ) 汉译英试题为语料，采用每年试题由5 0 名学生在每周一次的翻译课 上作答的方式收集数据并对数据进行统计研究，作答时不允许查阅字典及其他参 考资料。作者对汉语原文、参考答案、以及学生答卷中的衔接词的数目进行统计， 通过比较来描述英汉两种语言在衔接词使用上的异同，发现学生使用衔接词语时 的偏爱，揭示学生在衔接手段掌握上存在的缺点。基于4 0 0 份翻译文章的语料分 析试图查明英语专业高年级学生在英语翻译中存在的衔接问题及发生原因。本研 究采用了定量分析方法、定性分析方法以及对比分析方法。研究发现：( 1 ) 五种 衔接手段中，学生在省略、替代和词汇衔接方面掌握较好。( 2 ) 当不出现零指代 和隐性连接时，学生在代词和连词的翻译上与答案相近。( 3 ) 当有零指代和隐性 连接时，学生译文与英文行文习惯产生较大偏差，即过多地补充代词及过少地补 充连接词。 通过对英语专业八级汉译英试题的研究，本论文旨在找出学生在衔接手段的 掌握上存在的不足之处，探讨了汉英两种语言的异同性对汉英翻译的影响，提出 了提高学生衔接翻译水平的方法，对翻译课程的教学具有借鉴意义。 关键词：m a k h a l lj d a y ；汉英翻译；英语专业八级；衔接手段 a b s t r a c
