层次的一系列关系和矛盾也构成了这部小说丰富的主题，并且不断出现在莱辛后期的作 品里，引起了多方面的探讨。 本文旨在运用后殖民主义关于他者的相关概念以及莱恩存在性不安的三种焦虑，共 同分析青草在歌唱中人物的社会位置和内心状态，从而阐释小说的不确定身份的主 题。 本文由五大部分组成。第一部分为引言，简短介绍小说青草在歌唱的作者及故 事梗概。第二部分包括国内外文献综述和小说分析的相关理论。 第三部分依据后殖民主义的他者概念分析小说人物的不确定的身份，分三个方面 来阐释。第一类为种族他者，存在于当地的黑人和外来的白人殖民者之间；第二类为性 别他者，主要关注小说的女主角，玛丽既是白人又为女性；第三类为阶级内的他者，不 仅指代白人中的穷人，还包括小说中的当地富人。小说中的每个人物都有视他人为他者 的机会，同时也存在被视为他者的情况，因此他们的身份难以界定。 第四部分探讨主要人物的内心状况。根据莱恩的理论，具有存在性不安特质的人会 产生焦虑：吞没焦虑指害怕与人接触；爆聚焦虑则是害怕与外部现实世界联系；而僵化 焦虑主要是担心自己会被他人看做无生命的客体失去自主性。事实上，三种焦虑产生的 根本原因皆为对自身身份的不确定，由此在与其他人以及社会现实接触中引发对自身身 份和自主性的担忧。 因此最后一部分得出结论。小说中的人物在与其他人交往的过程中，他者没有一个
