摘要 约翰邓恩( 1 5 7 2 1 6 3 1 ) 作为玄学派诗歌的开拓者，被认为是 文学界具有影响但同时也是很有争议的诗人。尽管每个诗人的名声都 会有起有伏，但是没有人像邓恩一样遭受如此多的非议。经过长时间 的冷落，他最终被二十世纪的诗人与批评家重新发掘并受到了他们的 推崇，尤以艾略特为代表。 本文以歌与十四行诗为研究对象，探讨邓恩情诗中蕴含的现 代主义特质及其在诗歌的形式、意象、爱情奇喻三个层面的艺术呈现。 论文分为四个部分。 第一章主要论述现代主义诗歌的特征。现代主义诗歌的主要特质 有三：首先是形式上的创新，突破传统的规则与束缚，追求诗式的新 颖和奇特；其次表现在大胆运用意象并置、重叠等艺术技巧；再次， 奇喻的运用充分展现了现代主义诗歌的玄学化特征。这三种特质在邓 恩的情诗中已经显现出来，并通过艾略特等人的大力张扬在二十世纪 的现代主义诗歌中尤为明显，体现了传统与创新的辩证关系。 第二章考察邓恩情诗中形式的现代主义特征。与其前辈和同代诗 人不同的是，邓恩在诗歌形式上的突破体现了现代主义诗歌革新的走 向。在歌与十四行诗中，邓恩诗歌形式的创新主要体现为诗节的 多变与复杂，戏剧化的技巧与口语体融洽无间，极大地丰富了诗歌的 形式和语言的表现力。 第三章研究邓恩情诗的现代主义技巧。邓恩通过意象的并置与重 叠融合，使意象呈现由单向度向多向度发展，这样的处理方式体现了 现代主义诗歌的技巧早在十七世纪的邓恩笔下就已发展成熟。这证明 了二十世纪的现代主义诗人向后看的怀古倾向。 第四章论述邓恩情诗中的奇喻所体现的现代主义玄学化特征。奇 喻既是一种诗歌技巧，更是诗人思维的呈现。邓恩擅长用想象在迥然 不同的事物之间建立玄妙的逻辑关联，如爱情与圆规、爱情与太阳、
