摘要 尽管对爱伦坡的研究涉及非常广泛，但其研究途径大致可分为 两类：心理学途径和传记学途径。基于前人的研究，本文尝试运用坡 的美学批评理论，从创作哲学的角度对他的思想和作品重新阐释。尽 管坡本人一直否认与唯美主义或超验主义有任何密切联系，其作品仍 然依稀可见唯美与超验的成分。但坡又区别于唯美主义者，他所谓的 “美”乃神圣美，或称原始的“太一”( o n e n e s s ) ，雨非简单的形式美； 其理论也有别于超验主义朦胧的“超灵”说，更多地融入了科学的准 确性。从他早期的诗集帖木耳到后期巨著我发现了，坡的创 作目的似乎都是在探索和揭示原始“太一”的神圣美。本文将围绕“美” 这一主题，将其作品作为一个整体来考察。具体方法是：运用坡文学 评论中的美学理论观点来考察这些理论在其诗歌、小说中的运用。 爱伦坡既非一个普通意义上的“为艺术而艺术”的唯美主义者， 也非一个简单的哥特式恐怖主义作家。一方面，他并不以艺术的形式 美为目的。他虽反复强文学作品的效果统一美、诗歌的音乐美以及女 性形象美，其最终日的却只是为了一瞥神秘的神圣美。因为他相信文 学形式美能创造出一种最能震荡灵魂的效果，也就是他所认为的“超 凡脱俗的神圣美在尘世的惊鸿一现”。另一方面，坡的恐怖小说恰恰 与恐怖无关，而是披着恐怖的外衣的“美”的寓言。形形色色的恐怖 故事下掩盖着同一“美”的内核：躁动的灵魂对原始“太一”神 圣美的渴求。而故事中的人物也并非真实独立的人，而是人的灵魂、 理性或肉体的载体。内在的同一性使得他们本能地向往回归神圣美或 原始“太一”。他们无心留恋世俗，通常隔世而居，行为怪诞。最终 死亡降临，伴随着肉体的泯灭，灵魂带着他们胜利回归“太一”，融 入原始的神圣美。 关键词：爱德加爱伦坡神圣美 与世隔离音乐美 效果统一性 多重体 a b s
