毒草的标签，但后来伴随着社会伦理环境的进步以及形式主义批评和女性主义批评 的崛起，小说又被推崇并奉为经典。 纵观觉醒接受史，可以清晰地发现，这部小说先后经历了被否定、被肯定、 被推崇三个阶段。小说出版之初，遭到了以伦理道德为主要评判标准的主流批评界的 严厉批评，并在之后被埋没达近半个世纪。到了2 0 世纪中期，以新批评为代表的形 式主义批评占据了主流，主要关注文本的艺术特色和形式美，因而针对这部小说艺术 特色的研读开始盛行。从二十世纪七十年代开始，女性主义批评开始崛起并盛极一时， 小说被挖掘出来并被奉为经典，并在女性主义理论框架下得到了更深更广阔的解读。 从文化批评角度来看，人们对文学作品的理解是受到了来自相互竞争、相互影响 着的各种文化暗流的影响，对文学文本的理解不能脱离文本所依存的话语体系。特定 时期的文化构成是错综复杂的，人们的文化体验受到来自性别、种族、民族、性取向、 社会经济层次、职业等诸多因素的影响。文化又是动态不稳定的，在不断地成长和变 化。具体到每个特定时期，各种文化潮流都在不断地竞争，不断地交流，有主流文化 在前台主导文化评判和取向，也有非主流文化在后台不时暗流涌动。主流文化会在其 所能触及的各个领域施加影响，而在文学批评领域主流文化主宰着文学作品的解读和 接受。但是“影响力不只是只从政治和社会经济结构的上层发出影响力是朝着各个 方向流动的，在任何时代都是贯穿所有层次的 。因此，被压抑的文化也在不断和主 流文化交流沟通，也会有时机冲到前台发出声音。而到了文学批评领域，这些文化新 贵也会通过开辟新的文学批评方法并以此重新诠释文学文本而留下印记。 从觉醒的接受史来看，对作品的不同批评方法体现了不同的文学原则和批评 方法，不同的哲学思维，不同的文化视角，从而读出了不同的意义。因此对同一作品 的批评接受史做一历时研读能突显出不同时期文化环境和文学理论的演进。基于此， 本文通过回顾觉醒的批评接受史，旨在发现美国社会的变迁、社会思潮的冲击以 及随之而来的文学批评理论的新发展，对一部文学作品的接受与评判产生的影响。 关键词：觉醒；接受；文化环境；肖邦 a b s t r a c t t h ea w a k e n
