摘要 摘要 2 0 世纪初刃：始，英语“一i n g ”结构就引起了众多西方学者的兴趣，研 究的焦点集巾于进行时态和动名词的演变历程。然而研究仍然存在着广泛的争 议。一方i f i f ，研究只停留在实证阶段，未能上升到理沦阶段。另方面，研究 不全面、比较分散孤立，其他“一jn g ”结构，包括“一i n g ”结尾的形容词、 介词和助动词结构的起源很少涉及并且很少与进行时态和动名词一起谈论研究。 实际上“一jn g ”的结构演变大致经历了从意义实在到语法功能转化的过程， 即“语法化”。此篇论文将借助语法化的术语和理论，更全面系统地探讨“一i n g ” 结构的演变历程。语法化研究因为结合了语言外因素如认知方式，而打破了语言 是个自足系统的传统观念，打破了共时和历时研究长期分离的局面，最近十多年 成为了研究的热点。这方面的工作主要集中在形式框架和功能框架上。前者重视 语言结构，主要从自足化系统本身解决；后者重视语言结构相互间的影响和作用， 将语言视为认知和交际力。 口k 本篇论文研究的焦点就是“一i n g ”的语法化，旨在挖掘这个普通的英语屈 折词缀和语法标记词的用法、相关语法形式和结构的产生，以及对整个语言的影 响。此篇沦文将基于前人的共时描述和历时解释，重构所有“一i n g ”结构的语 法化演变路径。所谓共时描述针对的是现阶段的语法和结构，历时描述突出的是 语法形式的来源和演变路径。然后，本文应用现有的语法化理沧，如滞留、歧变、 去范畴化原则等等去解释所有“一i n g ”结构有关的语法现象，旨在使“一i n g ” 起源研究与当前的语法化研究接轨，并且弥补其理沦研究相对匮乏的缺陷。另 方面，根据“一i n g ”结构的历时解释提供的实证资料，本篇将对现有的语法化 动机理论进行一定的完善。本篇提出在进行某具体的语法化研究的过程- r ，将 摘要 形式框架和功能框架相结合，重点放在形式框架上的想法。因为本篇通过对“ i n g ”的语法化研究，发现语法功能是诱发其语法化的主导因素，并且在其语法 化过程中社会因素如语言间的影响，以及心理因素等也起着重要作用。 最后，本文通过应用“一jn g ”语法化的理论成果于英晤教学利英汉对比研究， 进行“一 n g
