西壹壅姿盔堂塑主堑窒竺兰堡垒塞 蔓! 要 _ - _ _ - - _ _ _ _ _ 一 一 摘要 对于同一部作品，如红字，不同的人往往有不同的理解。原因是文学作 品传达给读者的信息并不是直接从构成文学作品的语言本身得来的。从符号学 的角度，如果把红字作为一个符号，这个符号的所指就是文学作品传达给 读者的信息。根据符号学原理，有“所指”必定有“能指”，本文的目的就是找 出文学作品中的“能指”。本文通过对红字这部小说的案例分析，试提出文 学语言符号的新解释。 索绪尔在普通语言学教程( 1 9 1 6 ) 一书中提出了语言符号的二元论。二 元论描述了“纯”语言及其使用而产生的普通语言符号的结构( 能指所指) 。 但文学语言作为作家的言语，其意义( 或信息) 与索绪尔的“概念”( 所指) 大相 径庭，而且产生的语义丰富及变化也迥异于索绪尔理论中的“约定俗成”。索绪 尔将文学语言符号的研究留给了后来的学者。 在对文学语言符号的研究中，存在着二元论和三元论的对立。二元论中， 雅备布森的“陌生化”和巴特尔的“e r c ”模式以索绪尔的符号理论为基础，虽 有重要的补充和修正，但仍不能完全解决文学作品所传信息的生成机制。三元 论的主要代表皮尔士的符号三元论引入了“所指物”并视之为符号的一个因素， 对二元论的符号结构做了很大突破，但却未能将之在文学作品的言语意义生成 中派上用场。对这一问题有新解释的是苏珊朗格，她成功地将艺术符号于艺 术中的符号区分开来，为我们正确定位文学符号提供了崭新的理论视角。 就像红字这部小说一样，作品本身是一个文学符号，它有自身结构中 的“能指”和“所指”，而作品中言语的技巧性使用，只是构成文学符号的符号， 这些符号被称为文学中的符号。 作品作为艺术符号，其所指就是作品传达的文学意义( 文学家称之为主 题)
