摘要 d h 劳伦斯是英国文学史上最具影响力的作家之一。在他短暂的一生中， 劳伦斯创作了包括小说、戏剧、诗歌、散文、游记在内的近5 0 部作品，然而他 的声誉主要建立在小说上。劳伦斯在小说中不仅揭露了工业文明造成的自然生态 危机，同时也指出人类精神层次上的生态危机才是更深层次的生态危机。与此同 时，劳伦斯提出了解决自然生态危机和人类精神生态危机的最好途径，即人类应 善待自然，人与自然应当和谐相处。这种和谐正是劳伦斯和他同时代的人甚至是 我们现代人一直在寻找的。只有在这种和谐之下人类才能更好地生存和发展。本 论文从小说本身出发，运用生态批评的相关理论从新的视角对劳伦斯的小说加以 研究，也对劳伦斯提出的解决危机的办法进行了分析。 本论文由四个章节及引言和结论组成。引言部分对作者的生平及四部小说进 行了简单的介绍。同时生态批评的相关理论在这部分也有所介绍。在综述国内外 文学界对劳伦斯四部小说评论的基础上提出了本论文的中心论题。 第一章探讨了劳伦斯小说中所体现的自然生态观。他对自然界的精彩描述以 及作品中对人与自然界关系的思考与感悟，体现了他对大自然的热爱及其独到的 理解。在劳伦斯看来，人是自然的儿女，是自然不可分割的部分。 第二章、第三章探讨了劳伦斯在小说中所体现的对社会生态和精神生态的关 注。劳伦斯将矛头直指资本主义工业文明，在他的笔下，工业革命带来的破坏历 历在目。工业文明不仅破坏了美丽的环境，而且摧残了人性，扭曲了人与人之间 的正常关系，使人遭受精神与肉体分离的痛苦。人们很难达到自我实现的目的， 因此在生活中失去了自我。 第四章分析了劳伦斯在小说中提出的解决精神生态和自然生态危机的办法， 即倡导人类回归自然，亲近自然。只有人与自然和谐相处人类的种种危机才能得 以解决。
