新的视 角。认知语言学家和语篇分析学家一直致力于建立可行的认知模型来合理地解释读者理解、 加工语篇的认知过程，沃斯的“语篇世界理论”是其中较有影响力的认知模型之一，该模型 对语篇的认知过程有着j3 泛的解释力。语篇世界认知模型充分考虑了读者在加工语篇中的积 极作用，以及语篇的动态加上过程。凑者唰读语篇过程中在头脑中建立的认知世界，随着语 篇的推进，也不断变化。通过这个模型，沃斯试图解释读者如何透过语篇建立认知世界，以 及读者如何借助已自的语言、经验知识和语筒相互作用达到理解语篇的目的。“语篇雌界理 论”和“可能世界理论”、“心理空间理论”在理论和方法上有着密切的联系，但是通过比较， 我们司以发现“语篇世界理论”从语篇层次动态地解释读者理解、加_ r 语篇的认知过程，洲 此具有更强的解释力和更泛的运用范围。本文运用“语篇世界理论”对美围作家福克纳的 短篇小说谷仓燃烧进行认知文体分析，探讨读者如何加工语篇，形成以知世界，以及这 些认知世界如何展现小说中人物之间的矛盾以及主人公矛盾的& , i l l 。通过分析，我们发现文 章i 扣t 推动“语篇呲界”发展的功能成分要远远少于推动“亚世界”发展的功能成分，f f l “语篇_ _ 廿：界”中的功能成分主要是描述人物或事物之间的关系，而不是描述动态的行为。 此外，我们还发现，作者撷繁使用情态动词、否定词等构建“情态世界”、“否定砸世界” 以及“态艘砸世界”，这是小说突出的特征。情态动词、否定词等构建的“情态亚世界”和 “否定弧世界”以及其他的“认识亚世界”与“语篇世界”产生认识上的距离。“否定、砸世 界”1 “语篇世界”以及其他“亚世界”之间也产生了矛盾。小说r
