山东大学硕士学位论文 摘要 f 语言学习是一项涉及各种因素及过程的活动。语言学习者的学习风格及大脑 思维方式也影响语言学习成绩。认知语言学是一种解释语言的新方式，它基于人 类对我们所处的这个世界的经验以及我们如何感悟这些经验并对其概念化。人类 作为一个整体如何处理语言与语言学习者个人如何处理语言在逻辑上必有共通 之处，本文试图探讨认知语言学的若干理论对英语学习的启示。对中国的英语学 习者而言，无论其水平高低，介词、多义词、短语动词等等都相当令人头疼。而 认知语言学的丰硕研究成果恰好在这些方面为我们提供了新颖的见解与系统的 分析t 一一一 具体来讲，系统理解上述语言单位需要借助认知语言学中的典型理论、隐喻 理论、射体与界标理论、框架与图样理论以及象似性理论等，这些理论是我们在 英语学习方面有效的“祛痛剂”。 我们对周围的世界进行感悟并与之互动，同时通过感悟与互动来组织关于这 个世界的经验，于是产生了典型范畴。典型就是对某个范畴的心理表征。比如， 以英语为母语的人一提起“b i r d ”，马上映入他们脑海的便是“r o b i n ”的形象。 因此，“r o b i n ”便是“b i r d ”这一范畴的典型。而这一范畴的其他成员则靠家族 相似性联系在一起。典型理论，或者单独，或者与其他理论一道，可应用于语义、 句法等的分析，从而使我们更加系统、更加透彻地理解语义、句法等语言单位。 隐喻把已知与未知、熟悉与陌生联系在一起并对其比较。作为联系两个世界 的桥梁，隐喻使学习者借助一事物理解另一事物成为可能。认知语言学家的结论 为：隐喻是认知工具，是一种思维方式。一些语言单位，象介词、多义词及短语 动词，是通过隐喻来扩展其意义的。这一过程把看似不相干的一个词或一个短语 动词的各种意义串联起来。隐喻理论有助于英语学习者系统地理解词或短语动词 的各个义项之间的关联，有助于记忆词汇。需要进一步指出的是，有关学习的隐 喻在描述学习过程时起着关键的作用，此类型隐喻反映出老师与学生之间的各种 关系，能够揭示学生们的学习目的及学习方法。 框架与图样理论对我们理解自然语言大有裨益。框架是关于某一中心概念的 常识性知识的整体模式。从本质上讲，框架是知识的静态综合。而图样在本质上 是动态的，它是指描述某一态势时事件进行的标准顺序。 射体、界标和路径是分析介词的基本理论。射体和界标这一理论工具在对介 词进行描述方面富有成效，该方式揭示出介词各义项间的联系。传统观点认为介 词各义项是互不相干的意义罗列，而射体和界标理论则冲出这一藩篱第四章以 “o v e r ”和“t h r o u g h ”为例，详细展示了射体和界标理论与典型理论和隐喻理 论相结合如何对介词进行系统的分析。
