摘要 本文运朋女性主义理论对当代爱尔兰作家詹姆斯乔伊斯的早期作品都柏林人中的四个 女性人物进行了初步的研究。通过对这四个女性人物的另类女性方式的解读，揭示了作为被 赋予他者含义的女性本身就具有对以男性为主的传统观念的挑战和颠覆，以及其中所蕴涵的 女性的超越力和构建主体性的潜在力。 本着妇女屈从的地位是由于文化造成的而不是由于生理的差异，本文相信妇女可以构建 自己的主体性。妇女可以和男人一样拥有自己的声音和自己的行为方式。根据存在女性主义 者西蒙尼波弗娃的他者概念，本文旨在挖掘和呈现四位妇女有别于男性的女性另类方式的 存在。首先，在伊弗琳的内心独白中，女性独有的流动性思维被展现得淋淋尽致。由于她天 生的敏感和女性特有的双重思考方式，她的思维打破了时间的限制，思维呈现出流动的打破 男性传统思维的另类方式；其次慕尼太太的话语权在处理婚姻，家庭和与多瑞先生的谈判中 慢慢构建起来。再次，从玛利亚形成自恋的过程中，显现出女性特有的自恋方式一一通过镜 子中的形象来肯定自己，构建了自信和主体性来面对男性传统。最后，西尼科太太采用了比 较极端的方式一一借助黑暗和酒精来构建她自己的主体性，为自己创建了个可以自由徜徉的 主观世界。
