内容摘要 隐喻的研究源远流长，2 0 0 0 多年来一直受到语言学者的关注。 传统上，隐喻被认为是一种用来装饰语言的修辞表达。然而，近几十 年来人们对隐喻的看法有较大改观。隐喻以及它的结构、运作机制、 功能、认知特点已经成为语言学、人类学、哲学、心理学、教育学等 众多学科的热门话题。其中隐喻的认知功能研究异军突起，受到普遍 认可。认知论者认为，隐喻不仅是一种语言修辞，而且是一种思维模 式，是人们用来借助具体事物认知抽象事物的一种有效认知工具。空 间隐喻借助空间关系认知抽象概念。人类与空间的密切关系使得空间 隐喻在人类的认知发展史中具有重要影响。 本文共分五章。第一章简要回顾了隐喻研究的历史，重点放在隐 喻的认知发展阶段。从“相互作用论”的提出、“激进创造性假说” 的发表、到“始源域向目标域映射”的理论形成，理查兹、布莱克、 莱考夫对隐喻认知功能机制的研究步步深入，日臻完善。隐喻认知功 能机制的完善为空间隐喻的研究奠定了基础。本章还阐述了空间隐喻 在人类认知发展史上的重要意义，并通过对介词初始义、引申义的分 析，确定了把介词作为空间隐喻的研究目标。 介词的初始义多为空间义，且其空间义可广泛延伸到其他抽象域 中。问题的关键在于找到这种延伸得以发生的理据及其方式途径。通 过对一些介词多义性的分析，第二章揭示了介词意义延伸的理据一经 验基础，论述了经验基础分析的哲学依据经验现实主义。另外，经 验的来源、意义、种类及相互关系都在本章中作详细阐述。 莱考夫对意象图式的定义是“相对简单的，在我们的日常身体体 验中不断重复出现的结构或空间方位及关系。”第三章揭示了介词空 间意义的延伸是通过“意象图式”进行，即在空间域向抽象域的映射 过程中空问意象及其内部逻辑关系得以保留。本章又进一步探讨了意 象图式的组成、功能特点以及它与“意象”的区别。 第四章着重于介词的分析。先从整体入手，按空间关系将介词划 分四类分别表示“方位、( 相对) 位置、方向及途径”。进而论述了介 词空间意象图式的总特点、介词空间义向抽象义的延伸。然后通过对 几个典型个例的详细分析，论证了经验基础、意象图式理论、空间域
