西南科技大学硕士研究生学位论文第l i 页 摘要 玛丽沃尔斯通克拉夫特葛德温雪莱( 1 7 9 7 1 8 5 1 ) 最负盛名的杰作弗兰 肯斯坦在将近两个世纪里经久不衰。这部独特的小说自1 9 1 8 年出版以来一直得 到诸多评论。在女性哥特小说成为研究热点的今天，弗兰肯斯坦又得到评论家 的青睐，散发出愈加耀h 艮的文学光彩。本论文主要采用西蒙娜德波伏娃的“他 者 理论，桑德拉吉尔伯特和苏珊古芭的女性主义理论以及西格蒙德弗洛 伊德的人格结构学说，从三个方面对弗兰肯斯坦中的怪物形象进行女性哥特 阐释。论文首先根据波伏娃的他者理论，将小说中的怪物形象与父权社会中的女 性相结合来分析。怪物的他者身份塑造了他的弱者形象，使他成为女性被边缘化 处境的隐喻。其次，根据弗洛伊德的人格结构学说以及吉尔伯特和古芭的女性主 义理论，将怪物形象与女性自我阴暗面相结合来分析。怪物的丑陋强大赋予了他 强者的形象，从而成为女性自我阴暗面的象征。而怪物短暂的一生则是女性历史 的哥特式写照。最后，论文就玛丽雪莱创作怪物这一形象的动机进行探究。一 方面，怪物玛丽雪莱“丑陋的后裔”从某种程度上来说是玛丽雪莱的“影 子 和阴暗面；另一方面，怪物形象也体现了女性写作的困境。 关键词：弗兰肯斯坦怪物女性哥特他者女性自我阴暗面
