平。然而，让另外一些女权主义者们不解、不满，甚至愤怒的是，艾略特并没有在其作 品中塑造出像其本人一样蔑视传统，反传统而行的女性形象，这很大程度上归因于艾略 特的女性观。作为一名知识女性，她敢于挑战维多利亚时代的男权社会，积极提倡女性 争取接受教育的权利，享有更多就业的机会，以及婚姻自由的权利，而这些都展示了她 的女性主义意识。但另一方面，她不主张男女地位的绝对平等，而强调女性应该做出自 指出由于她“人文主义 的宗教观才导致她矛盾的女性观。 本篇论文共分三部分。第一部分为引言，介绍艾略特本人及其作品，论文写作的背 景及创作缘由。第二部分共包含三章。第一章主要分析了艾略特所处的时代背景，同时 结合她本人的生活经历系统地阐述了她的女性观。第二章结合文本弗罗斯河上的磨 坊，具体分析了她矛盾的女性观在作品中的体现。第三章探讨了她矛盾的女性观产生
