摘要 人们运用语言时常要求“精确”，讲究言筒意赅，言必有中。但语畜琨 实镫综复杂，交际双方往往会有言不这意或误解的情况发生。歧义，作为 一种语言现象，无处不在。它普遍存在予各种语言之中。洪堡特早在1 8 世 纪就指出，语言怒对于有限手段的无限运用，是一种创造性的活动 ( r o b i n ，1 9 8 7 ) 。当一个词表示诸多意义，一个结构形式体现多种结构层次 关系，一个谚语表现不同意图或含义时，便容易产生歧义。对鸯限语言手 段的无限运用是政义产生的根本梳剩( 鄂述德，1 9 9 8 ) 。 歧义蔻爨然语言中的普遍现象，也是语言磷究靛重要课鼹之一。对歧 义蠛象的研究不仅对联论的发展超重要作用，而且对其它的领域有实际髂 指导意义，特剐是可以用来引导英语教学。传统瓣歧义研究主要从语言形 式( 语音的、词汇的、句法的) 角度入手，以探讨一个语段可能表达几个意义。 然露，“意义不单存在于语言的形式之中，丽基存在于它的使用之中。( 蹰稹 光正，1 9 9 2 ：1 0 8 ) 。“形式”意义和“使用”意义也并不是完全楣应的熏合。 本文认为：纯形式的研究只能作为歧义研究的藻础，尚不能达到歧义磋究发 掘能指、明确所指的根本鞠的。 本项研究从对歧义的传统磷究入手，分柝阐明了这种纯形式的磺究的 确能够消除部分致义：像布龙菲尔德的赢接成分分析法，在解释出于不阅 结构层次引起的表层歧义方顽颁存成效。但选同辩指出，对于露些歧义， 如何解释它们便成了传统研究头痛的阏题。另外，本人从几年的教学实践 发现，大多数学生对纯们所磁到的歧义往往束手无策，只知道宙弱缝森字 典，弄不幢歧义在具体语境中的确切含义。因此，本文提豳了自己豹观点， 印要从语用角度来研究歧义，这里所说的语用角度是指谮境中的非言语语 境。鉴于以往研究对魏涉及的并不多，本文可以说是为歧义研究开辟了一 耨窗口。 语篇帮篇章语言学都十分蘸视语境的研究，因为语境因素将赢按影响 语言的理解和语言的运用。语境对于解释语言表达上的歧义现象超着熏要 豹作用。本项磺究主要运用语境瑷论，并结合收集到的大瑟范倒，翼体分 板了愤景语境、文化语境、认知语境三种非言语语境在消除跛义方藤魇起 的作用。 本文在研究方法上采用了定性的研究方法，其中对歧义、语境等理论 的介绍，以及在说明非言语语境在消除歧义方疆魇起的作用时适时恰当蟪 弓l 用了共计6 8 个例子，这些例子主要摘弓l 自期刊杂志以及文学 乍鼎。本文 的研究舅的是论证非言语谮境能有效解释弗消除歧义，井据此指明该项研 究对其他领域的启示作用，尤其楚如何指导我强的大学英语教学。 当然，本论文脊冀自身的缺陷。限于本文涵盏了三稃非言语语境，对它
