Knowledge aims:(1) Expressions: achievement, southwestern, thick, include, freezing, condition, take in, succeed, challenge, in the face of, achieve, force, nature, even though(even if)(2) Structure: The spirit of these climbers show us that we should never give up trying toachieve our dreams.It also shows that humans can sometimes be stronger than the forces of nature.3) Grammar: The comparisons with adjectives and adverbs2. Ability aims:(1) Get Students to learn to know facts about Qomolangma.(2) Get Students to learn to use the comparisons with adjectives and adverbs.(3) Get students to learn how to scan the main idea.(4) Get Students to know the spirits of the climbers and use them in their lives.3. Moral Objectives: Never give up and humans can challenge themselves. 2学情分析 学生已在八年级上册接触过形容词和副词的比较级和最高级形式,所以已有一定的基础。本单元在八年级上的语言基础上加以拓展,进一步学习和使用形容词的最高级。 3重点难点 Importances:(1) Get Students to understand the passage.(2) Get Students to learn to use the comparisons with adjectives and adverbs.(3) Get Students to learn how to scan the main idea.Difficulties:1. Its a bit difficult for Students to pronounce some names and words in the passage.Its a bit difficult for Students to use reading skills while reading.4教学过程 教学活动 活动1【导入】Warmup 1)Listen to a song “大中国” (review some geographies such as the Yangtze River ,the Yellow River and Qomolangma)students read out2) Look at the pictures of the Nile, the Caspian Sea, the Sahara and Qomolangma. Complete the sentences with the superlatives. LeadinQomolangma is the highest mountain in the world .(some pictures)Show a picture that many people went to climb Qomolangma.Free talk:1.Do you want to climb Qomolangma? 2.Do you think it is easy to climb it? 3.What might be the dangers of climbing Qomolangma?(Students can talk with their parterner)Show a video to help them to answer. 活动2【讲授】Prereading 1.Show the title and the picture to the students and ask them tell what they can get from the title and describe the picture.2. Students are asked to predict the main idea of the article according to the title and the picture.After talking, provide students with three choices and let them choose the right main idea for the article.设计意图:让学生利用文章的标题和图片来预测文章的主要内容,这也是一个阅读策略的渗透,长期坚持能够极大提高学生的阅读能力活动3【讲授】Whilereading 1.Fast reading: Read and match each paragraph with the main ideas.2.Careful reading: Read each paragraph and finish some tasks.(T or F, fill in theblanks.)3. Complete the chart according to the article.设计意图:利用找段落大意进行快速阅读,基本了解本篇阅读的内容。精读课文,完成相关任务。利用填空,填表巩固所学。活动4【活动】Posttask Answer some question1. Where are the Himalayas?2. How high is Qomolangma?3. Why do so many people try to climb this mountain even though it is dangerous?4. What does the spirit of the climbers tell us?设计意图:巩固刚才学习内容,加深理解Fill in the blanks according to the article设计意图:检测对文章的掌握,熟悉程度,尤其是一些重要表达能否回忆起 活动5【活动】Sumup Guide students to sum up what they can get from the article.设计意图:通过总结,学生能够感悟到文本的深层次的涵义:珠穆朗玛是大自然的馈赠,正是由于它的存在,人们才有可能去挑战自我,永不放弃。同时
