Pictures.2. The recorder together with its tape.Teaching procedure:Step 1 Warm-up1. Sing a song: My New Teacher. Help the students to be familiar with it.2. Free talk: What grade are you in? Do you have new books?Step 2 Presentation1. T: Do you have new teachers? Ss: We have a new computer teacher? T: Whos your computer teacher? Ss: Mr Li is our computer teacher. T: Whats he like? Is he young? Is he?2. Help the students to give some information about their new teachers and then present the words: young, old, tall, short, strong, thin, funny and kind3. Read the words and remember them.Activity :Write the words on the blackboard, get the students to read the words quickly. Divide the whole class into four groups and have a competition.Step 3 Practice1. Practise the sentence patterns one by one: S1: Do you have a teacher? S2: Yes, we have a teacher. S3: Whos your teacher? S4: is our teacher. S5: Whats he like? S6: He/Shes2. Practise the sentence patterns in groups.3. Get the students to describe Sarahs teacher.4. Find out. Get the students to read the description and try to find out the answer.Step 4 Consolidation and extensionDescribe their parents, friends or classmates.Teachers note: The second period:Aims of the lesson:1. Get the students to master the sentence patterns: Whos your _ teacher? Whats he/she like?2. Get the students to know the different address between the western countries and China.3. Get the students to be able to sing the song: My New Teacher.Main and difficulty point:Use the sentence patterns in the suitable scene.Teaching aids:1. Some pictures.2. The recorder together with its tape.Teaching procedure:Step 1 Warm-up and revision1. Sing a song.2. Free talk: Ask the students to say something about their Chinese teacher, English teacher, math teacher etc.Step 2 Presentation1. Present the drill; A: Whos your teacher? B: is my teacher. A: Whats he/she like? B: He/Shes2. Practise the drills in groups.Step 3 Practice1. Practise the sentence: Whos your math teacher? Replace the word “math” with other words.2. Practise the sentence: Whats like? Replace the word “he” with the other words. Whats he like? Whats your father/mother like? Whats your P.E. teacher/music teacher like?3. Lets talk. Get the students to look at the pictures at the bottom of Page 5 and practise the sentences.4. Listen and circle.Step 4 Good to know Introduce the different address between the western countries and China. For a person called Li Yapeng, we can call him Mr Liu or Yapeng, we cant call him Mr Yapeng.Step 5 Consolidation and extension1. Talk about the teachers with the partners.2. Write a short passage about a teachers appearance and character.Teachers note:The third period:Aims of the lesson:1. Get the students to master the dialogue in this lesson.2. Get the students to master the four-skill sentences in the dialogue.Main and difficulty points:1. The four-skill sentences: Whos your English teacher? Mr Carter. Whats he like? Hes tall and strong.2. The new sentence: Her class is so much fun.Teaching aids:1. Photos of some teachers and students.2. The overhead projector.3. The recorder together with its tape.4. Cards of the new words.Teaching procedure:Step 1 Warm-up and revision1. Simple greeting.2. Sing a song: My New Teacher.3. Play a guessing game: Ask a student to perform the action according to the cards on teachers hands and get the other students to guess what word it is.Step 2 Presentation 1. Present the new words. T: How many teachers do you have? Ss: We have T: Whos your science teacher? S: 2. Show some photo of some teachers and students and ask some questions: Whos that woman/man? Whats he/she like?Step 3 Practice1. Set the model and get the students to practise in pairs and groups.2. Play the tape and get the students to answer the following questions: How many new teachers? Who are they? Whos ZhangPengs English teacher? Wheres he from? Whats he like?3. Play the tape and let the students to listen and repeat.4. Get the students to practise the dialogue in pairs.Activity: Ask some students to act it out.Step 4 Consolidation1. Listen and finish the dialogue.2. Get the students to talk about someones appearance and character.3. Help the students say the chant.Main and difficult points:1. The spelling of the new words.2. The pronunciations of the words: principle, university.Teaching aids:1. The pictures of the new words.2. The overhead projector.3. The recorder together with its tape.Teaching procedure:1. Do a chant.2. Revision: Whos yourteacher? Whats he/she like?Step 2 Presentation1. Present the word “principle”, help the students pay attention to the pronunciation.2. Show out the picture of principle and ask the students: Whats the principle like? And this time, present the words “strict” and “kind”, then say the sentences: My_ teacher is strict. My _ teacher is kind.3. Present the new words smart, active and funny using the same way.Activity 1: Use the flash cards and let the students to say the new words quickly.Activity 2: Play a guessing game: Do some actions and guess.Step 3 PracticeSay something about your teachers or friends.For example: is my teacher. He/She is kind/smart/active is my friend. He/She is active/young4. Compare the words: art-smart act-active sunny-funny5. Do a chant.Step 4 Add-activity1. Get the students to try to spell the words.Step 2 PresentationShow the pictures of some teachers and students one by one and then present the sentence patterns:T: Whos this man? T: Whos that girl?S: Hes ourteacher. S: Shes my friendT: Is he strict? T: Is she active? Step 3 Practice1. Play the tape and get the students to listen and repeat the dialogue on Page 8.2. Get the students to practise the dialogue in pairs.3. Ask some students to act it out.4. Get the students to make similar dialogues in pairs.Activity:Divide the whole class into four groups, then get the students to ask and answer quickly.Step 4 Add-activity1.
