河南省南乐县张果屯乡中学九年级英语unit 14 have you packed yet?:period 2教案 人教新目标版step 1 revisionlast period students were asked to write a passage, mainly using the present perfect tense and the past tense. now ask volunteers to show his/her project and read it.sample: s: my father works in a car company. he has worked there for about 5 years. and he has been to several gm car factories in several countries. he had learned a lot. last month, he was invited to give a speech. he was so nervous that he could not remember the words he had prepared. from then on, he has done a lot of practice. now he can speak loudly and boldly before many people.step 2 reading and language study (3a: p112)ask students to read the e-mail passage then underline the different chores. sample answers:do ones homework, take the dog for a walk, water the plants, do some shopping, chat to somebody, chop wood, light the fire, collect water, feed the animalsask the students to make some sentences with the above words or phrases.sample sentences:1. i have to do my homework every day.2. after supper she usually takes her dog for a walk.3. i have to water the plants before i leave home.4. i want to do some shopping this weekend.5. she is a quiet girl and she doesnt like chatting to others.6. when i was a child, i had to get up early and chop wood and light the fire for breakfast. then i had to collect water from the village well and feed the animals.after having got the main idea about the passage and the usage of the important words as well, students are divided into two groups. group 1 is girls and group 2 is boys. they may ask and answer questions about the e-mail message with each other. see which group can raise more questions and get more answers. sample:g1: why couldnt crystal get back to jake sooner?b1: because she has many chores to do.g2: what does she have to do?b2: she has to do her homework first.g3: has she finished her homework by the time she writes the e-mail?b3: no. she started about an hour ago, but she hasnt finished yet.b4: who came to chat to her?g4: her grandfather came to chat to her.b5: what did her grandpa tell her about?g5: he told her about all of the chores he had to do when he was a kid.b6: when did he have to get up?g6: he had to get up at 5 am. b7: then what did he have to do?g7: he had to chop wood and light the fire for breakfast. then he had to collect water from the village well. then he had to feed the animals.step 3 role play and group work (3b, 4: p112)t: look at the pictures in 3b on page 112. what can you see?s1: i can see three students.t: can you tell me who they are?s2: they are steve, kathy and elise.t: now a student pretends to be one of the three people. its 12:00 oclock. the group asks questions to find out who he or she is pretending to be. sample conversation 1:s1: have you bought a newspaper?s2: yes, i have already bought a newspaper.s1: when did you buy it?s2: i bought it at 9:00 am.s1: i think you are pretending to be elise.sample conversation 2:s1: have you cleaned your room?s2: no, i havent.s1: when are you going to clean it?s2: im going to clean it at 1:00.s1: i think you are kathy.sample conversation 3:s1: have you fed the dog?s2: yes, ive already fed the dog.s1: when did you feed it?s2: i fed it at 11:00 am.s1: i think you are pretending to be steve.ask the students to make a list of the things they have done and the ones they havent done yet. please do this work in groups and then report to the class.a sample list:namethings he/she has donethings he/she hasnt donejakewater the flowers;
