Good morning ladies and gentlemen,Today my topic is to introduce the hotel English audio-visusal and speaking course that published by the foreign language teaching and research press.First I want to introduce my Analysis of the Teaching Material. This textbook is the glad tiding of the tourist department students. It lays stress on the practicability and develops students listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities. It contains three parts, front office, food and beverage department and house keeping, These three parts are core application of the critical skills exam, English part. This Unit is belong to the part of front office that very important in this text book. Students can not only learn much common words and sentences of greeting guests, and also the sentence patterns of reservation and things about their major.My teaching targets are the tourist department students. They wind up in the career training of the service discipline, and they are going to faced with the critical skills exam of front office. So they are interested in hotel English. However, thay are very lazy. They want to learn the most usefull things that they can put into use when they join in work in future. So they dont like to learn the base component of the English. This situation made my English teaching very difficult. Therefore, in my teaching process, I will emphatically let my students give a perform of booking rooms with English. They can use some service action that they learned in the major courses. Learning English by doing.My teaching aim is can let students perform how to book a room for a guest on the scene. It contains that greet guest, receive guest, make a reservation, advance deposit and bless guest. Combine the professional knowledge into English.My teaching key point is to make students perform reserve rooms for guests with the professional smile and action. My teaching difficult point is to lead students to abstract the process of reserve rooms by them own. If they know the process, they can do other things easily.I used audio-visual teaching method, image teaching method and role-play teaching method.Now Im going to share my teaching procedure.First I will show the students 4 different pictures about hotel to learn the new words and expressions this unit will refer to. These words are closed relation to the front office English, so the students are very interested.Then, I will play a video clip of booking rooms that performed by two foreigners. I will play it twice, let them watch, listen and feel how to make reservation in front office.In order to deepen what they have learned, I let them complete the dialogue and decide true or false in the text book.Next, I abstract the important sentences of this unit, let the students speak and perform them fluently with occupational smile and action. Such as “May I help you? Would you like a single room or double room? May I have your name, please? Let me check. For which date, please?” and so on.Watching the video again, then ask the students to speak English with the actors in the video. Then lead them abstract the process of booking rooms. Greeting date kind name Tel number confirmbless Good bye。Every step has a English sentence pattern. For example, greeting guest can use Good morning sir, may I help you? Bless can use the sentence I hope to see you again. Etc.Finally, and this is the most important link, I let the students to do the role-play in pairs. They should perform booking rooms like the video they have watched just now. Then one or two pairs will be asked to perform on the platform.Besides finishing the exercises number one and two in the book, the homework is also ask the students to keep on the performance. The next class every pair of the students will show their performance to everyone and I will give them scores.This class the students learned a lot of knowledge of booking rooms. They deepened their major courses and advanced th
