21世纪大学英语第二册教学大纲本门课程的教学目标和要求：培养学生具有较强的阅读能力、一定的听、说、译、写的能力，使他们达到大学英语课程教学要求中一般要求：听力理解能力能听懂语速为每分钟120词左右的英语国家人士的谈话及讲座，掌握大意。阅读能基本读懂英语国家大众性报刊、杂志的一般性题材文章。书面表达能在半小时内写120字左右短文， 内容完整，文章通顺。大学英语教学应帮助学生掌握良好的语言学习方法，打下扎实的语言基础，提高文化素养，培养学生语言运用能力、交流信息能力，以适应社会发展和经济建设的需要。本教学的预期目标，阅读能力应达到四级水平，写作应达到中级水准。教学重点和难点：本册中应掌握的词汇量约1000个左右，四级词汇约700个左右，常用的固定搭配、短语、习语、成语等共200个左右。课文的内容解析、掌握和应用，了解作者的写作目的及行文的结构方式。听力特色教学，学生上机自主学习，教师辅导。教学对象：一年级非英语专业本科生教学方式：课堂讲授，课后练习教学时数：周学时4，总学时72 （精读3学时，听力1学时）教学的具体内容及学时分配：Unit 1 Winston Churchill - His Wife （4学时）教学目标和要求：本文是一篇人物传记，反映了人物的一个侧面。课文以回忆的方式讲述了英国首相丘吉尔生活的另一面 艺术生活、绘画给他带来的欢乐与希望。在文章中出现的拟人手法使描写生动形象，能给读者留下深刻的印象，着重培养学生的语言技能。教学重点和难点： 重点单词：campaign, mission, private, grieve, retreat, distract, contemplate, accustomed, infinite, precaution, plunge, fury, terrify, overcome, revive, anonymous, barren, menace, abundant, existence重点词组： pay the price, come to somebodys rescue, try ones hand, chance upon/on, take refuge, fall from office, awaken to难点句型： love affair with sb, try ones hand at sth, before sb knows it, in ones 40s, so + subject + be教学方式：课堂讲授（2学时），讨论和习题课（2学时）复习与思考题：1.
