So if the students learn it well, it will be useful to learn the rest of this Unit. Inthisunit,theSslearnthe ways of transportation, such a topic is related to their daily life. So it can raise the students learning interests and improve their spoken English. 2. Analysis of the students.Students of Grade 8 have learned English for more than 4 years. They have a good foundation in words and sentences. They have mastered some skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing . They have taken a good interest in English now, they enjoy learning English.3.Teaching aims and demands.Knowledge objects.To learn the new words “take, subway, train,” To make the students know how to use the sentences “How do you get to school? How does he get to school?” Let the students can answer the questions above.Ability objects.To develop the students abilities of listening ,speaking, reading and writing. To train the students ability of working in pairs.To develop the studentsC. Moral objects. To enable the students to work with others and help each other.4.Teaching key and difficult points.Key points.To make the students can use the new words and e_pressions andeach other with the e_pressions.How-special question.Difficult point.the first to the third change of General tense 5.Teaching aids.Part 2: The teaching methods.Audio-visual teaching method.task-based teaching method.To use these methods is helpful to develop the students thought. As we all know, the main aims of learning English in Middle school is to cultivate the students abilities of listening, reading, speaking and writing. So I use the“” teaching method, “Audio-visual” teaching method and “task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the students get the better understanding of the key structures of the dialogue. Ill give the students some tasks and arrange five kinds of activities: listening, guessing games, watching CAI, acting out dialogues and make a survey. Part 3: Studying methods. I request the students to study English independently and cooperatively. Each Unit of Go for it contains pair work, group work and games. The students who sit at the same table and groups can make a discussion and learn each other. It makes the students more rela_ed, they neednt worry about making mistakes, It can arouse the students to think and to say what they want to say.Part 4. Teaching procedures.Step1. presentation.1.Let the students look at the pictures on the screen, Learn the new words and phrases, and then answer the following questions: How does he/she get to school? How do you get to school? Then write down the sentence” How do you get to school?” on the blackboard. Help the students to answer “take the subway, take the train, ride a bike, on foot .”2.Play a guessing game. How does he/she get to work? Ill ask the students about the focus stars such as Yao Ming, Zhou Jielun, Liu_iang and more. They are popular among the students in China, the students must be interested in them.3.1a, then check the answer with them.Purpose of my designing: To present the ways of transportation by CAI is more easier for the students to learn and grasp the meanings. CAI can provide a real situation with its sound and picture and it makes the relationships between students better.Step2. Listening. Before I play 1b.I ask the students: how do you Step3. Workbook and groupwork.Ask two students read the conversation, then let the student practice in pairs. After that, ask them to practice in groups like this: A: How do you get to school? B: I take a subway. C: How does B get to school? D: He takes a subway.Encourage them to use different words and find out the best group. In this step, the students are required to practice the sample in pairs by reading the dialogue aloud. This step is employed to make the students grasp the sample. At last Ill ask the students to thing hard and act it out well. Ill give them some cards with numbers as a prize. Purpose of my designing: This step is employed to make the students get the general idea of the dialogue as a whole one. At the same time, let the students have a chance to practice their listening and spoken ability. “Task-based” teaching method is used here to develop the students interest in English learning if the students can finish the task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English. Step 4 Tell the students another way of these sentences on the screen and practice.In this step, tell the students:take the/a transportation to sw and get/go to sw by transportation have the same meaning.
