XXXA Survey of the Preferences of Fast-food Consumers in NottinghamBackground and Objectives:A recent drop in customers at traditional fast-food outlets has been noted, thus, a survey has been conducted and a report has been written by The Organic Burger Company to:1) Discover the trends in food preferences of the people in Nottingham2) Identify what factors fast-food consumers consider regarding restaurant amenities3) Determine the level of satisfaction that fast-food consumers haveMethodologyThe researchers of Organic Burger Company interviewed one hundred and twenty (120) respondents, between the ages sixteen (16) and thirty-five (35) years old. More than half belonged to the youngest age range (16 19 years old). A one-page questionnaire was used during the interviews and the survey was conducted in Nottingham last September 12th, 2010.Analysis and InterpretationAfter gathering and analyzing the information collected, results have shown a diverse set of responses from the questionnaires key questions.1. Which of the following food types do you prefer? Responses show that most consumers prefer organic food over fast-food. Eighty-six percent (86 %) of the total number of respondents currently consume more organic food, while only fourteen percent (14 %) prefer to eat fast-food.2. When deciding to eat out, what do you consider most important?Results show that thirty-five percent (35 %) of the individuals interviewed take into utmost consideration the freshness of the food over restaurant interior, menu content and food prices. It has also been found that food prices are least thought about by consumers in Nottingham.3. I am satisfied with the food served by Organic Burger Company.The majority of the respondents who were interviewed do not like the Restaurants food. The breakdown includes forty-seven percent (47%) expressing strong dissatisfaction, thirteen percent (13 %) and twenty-five percent (25 %) reveal slight to average dissatisfaction. Less than a quarter, at fifteen percent (15 %), has said that they are satisfied with The Organic Burger Companys food.4. To improve, The Organic Burger Company should _.When requested to complete this statement, respondents have suggested that the company change meat suppliers, since burger meat that has been served at times did not seem fresh. Other comments suggested more variety in the menu, hiring and training new competent staff and the introduction of vegetarian options for customers.ConclusionFrom the findings of this survey, it has been observed that the pool of customers in Nottingham is now very particular with eating in the healthiest way possible. In addition, there seems to be a widespread preference for organic food. This means that the company will need to review its menu and create dishes from organically grown
