专业外语课程教学大纲课程名称:专业外语英文名称:English course for biotechnology课程代码:05214001-2一、 课程基本情况1学分:2.5 学时:40 (理论学时:40 实验学时:0 )2课程类别:专业任意选修课3适用专业:生物工程专业4适用对象:本科5先修课程:大学英语6教材与参考书目:教材:生物工程专业英语,姜彦、刘晓兰编著,哈尔滨工程大学出版社,2006年。参考书:生物工程、生物技术专业英语,邬行彦、储炬、宫衡编著,化学工业出版社,1999年。二、课程介绍1专业外语是一门专业任意选修课,通过对本课程的学习要求学生掌握科技英语常用的语法和句法,掌握生物工程专业常用英文字词,提高阅读理解能力,提高英文写作能力。为学生了解相关专业知识在国外的最新研究动态打下坚实的基础。2专业外语是学生完成了两年基础英语学习后的一门后续课程。本门课程是以英语作为手段了解生物工程专业的相知识,是其他专业课程的辅助课程。3本课程的目的是通过指导学生阅读与生物工程专业相关的英语书刊和文献,使他们进一步提高阅读和翻译英语科技资料及写作的能力,并能以英语为工具获取专业所需的信息。三、课程内容、学时分配及教学基本要求第一单元 amino acid(共4学时)(一)教学内容:第一节 Introduction of Amino Acid知识要点:grasp the main idea (the discovery and the application of the amino acid)and analyze the structure of some sentences.第二节 Commercial Use of Amino Acids知识要点:Master the key language points, Master the important glossary教学重点:Master the professional glossary, gasp the key language points教学难点:the professional words ,such as glutamicum, actinomycetes , streptomycetes and so on,the key language points and grammatical structures in the text(二)教学基本要求:1了解文章的主旨,理解文中关键句子的结构,熟练掌握文中的关键单词的用法。2了解氨基酸的发现过程及氨基酸的用途,初步掌握专业英语常用语法、句法,掌握常用的专业词汇,熟练掌握重点单词。第二单元Enzyme(共6学时)(一)教学内容:第一节 Brief History of Enzymology知识要点:Master the following professional glossary:enzymology,virus, alcoholic beverage, detergent, protein, inhibitor, catalyst;grasp the main idea of the brief history of enzymology.第二节 Enzymes in Antiquity知识要点:Master the following glossary:microorganism, fermentation, vinegar, enzymatic conversion, acetic acid; grasp the main idea: The various application of the enzymes in Antiquity第三节 Early Enzylology知识要点:Master the following professional glossary:demonstration,in vitro,ingredient教学重点:Grasp the main idea and analyze the structure of the text教学难点:The key language points and grammatical structures in the text(二)教学基本要求:1了解文章的主旨,理解文中关键句子的结构,熟练掌握文中的关键单词的用法。2了解酶学的发生发展过程,初步掌握专业英语常用语法、句法,掌握关于酶学的常用的专业词汇,熟练掌握重点单词。第三单元Applications of Cellulase Enzymes(共10学时)(一)教学内容:第一节 Stone washing Denim知识要点:Master the following glossary:cellulase ,denim,pumice stones,abrade,indigo,forgiving;Grasp the main idea of the application of cellulose in stone washing Denim.第二节 Animal Feed知识要点:Master the following glossary:glucanase, digestibility, barley, carbohydrate, submerged fermentation;Grasp the main idea of the application of cellulose in animal feed第三节 Fruit Juice and Beverage Processing知识要点:Master the following professional glossary:beverage,slurry,filtration,centrifugation;Grasp the main idea of the application of cellulose in producing fruit juice and beverage.第四节 Alcohol Production知识要点:Master the following glossary:alcohol, ethanol, enormous, sulfuric, cellobiose;Grasp the main idea of the application of cellulose in alcohol production.第五节 Textile Biopolishing知识要点:Grasp the main idea of the application of cellulose in textile biopolishing教学重点:the meaning of the key professional glossary教学难点:Grasp the main idea and analyze the structure of the text(二)教学基本要求:1了解文章的主旨,理解文中关键句子的结构,熟练掌握文中的关键单词的用法。2了解纤维素酶在纺织、动物饲料的生产、饮料及酒精生产中的应用,初步掌握专业英语常用语法、句法,掌握与纤维素酶相关的常用的专业词汇,熟练掌握重点单词。第四单元Biotechnology and Biochemistry(共16学时)(一)教学内容:第一节 History of Biotechnology in Austria知识要点:Master the following glossary:biotechnology, brewing, brewage, brewing technology, polytechnic institute;Grasp the main idea of the history of biotechnology in Austria.第二节 The Vienna Process for Producing Bakers Yeast知识要点:Master the following glossary:dough, skim off, lager , bottom yeast, raw material;Understand why the bakers need the yeast of brewery in that time in Vienna.第三节 Definition of Solid State Fermentation知识要点:Master the following professional glossary:solid state fermentation,submerged fermentation,substrate, bioreactor, solute;Grasp the main idea of the difference between solid state fermentation and submerged fermentation.第四节 Improvements in Distillery Practice知识要点:Master the following glossary:flora, contamination, propagate, pure culture, butyric acid;Grasp the main idea of the development of the distillery practice.第五节 Introduction of Biochemistry知识要点:Master the following glossary:biochemistry, chemical reaction, molecular, metabolic, bacteria;Grasp the main idea of the development of biochemistry.第六节 Biochemistry and Evolution知识要点:Master the following glossary:in the light of, comparative anatomy, population genetics, prokaryote;Grasp the main idea of the relationship of biochemistry and evolution.第七节 Prokaryotic Cell: Structure Feature 知识要点:Master the following glossary:prokaryotic cell, Escherichia coli, chromosome;Grasp the main idea of the structure feature of prokaryotic cell.第八节 Eukaryotic Cell: Structure Feature知识要点:Master the following glossary:eukaryotic cell, protists, intracellular,organize;Grasp the main idea of the structure feature of eukaryotic cell.教学重点:the meaning of the key professional glossary教学难点:Gasp the key language points and grammatical structures in the text.(二)教学基本要求:1了解文章的主旨,理解文中关键句子的结构,熟练掌握文中的关键单词的用法。2了解生物工艺学和生物化学的历史及其发展等各文章的主旨,初步掌握专业英语常用语法、句法,掌握与生物工艺学和生物化学相关的常用的专业词汇,熟练掌握重点单词。第五单元How To Write Abstract(共6学时)(一)教学内容:第一节 How To Write Abstract of Thesis知识要点:master how to write the abstract of science and technology thesis; learn the tense and voice of science and technology thesis第二节 How To Write Abstract of Specification of Plant-Design知识要点:grasp the meaning of the key professional glossary; earn the tense and voice of abstract of the design of brewery;
