说 课 稿 英语组 张 梅 2012.3今天我说课的内容是必修三第四模块的Reading and vocabulary部分。一、说教材1. 选择的理由 这学期我们的课题是提高高中英语词汇教学有效性研究,所以我选择的说课内容是Reading and vocabulary部分。众所周知,词汇知识与阅读理解相辅相成,相互促进。阅读是学习词汇的重要途径之一,学生通过阅读扩大词汇量,加深对词汇的理解和认识,同时促进阅读理解能力的提高。2. 教材教学内容分析本模块介绍了亚洲尤其是在中国发生沙尘暴的情况,并引入了与沙尘暴和环保有关的词汇,目的在于在活动中发展学生语言能力,同时培养其环保意识。环保是现在各级各类考试经常涉及的一个话题,所以帮助学生了解环保知识,掌握相关的词汇就显得尤为重要了。3. 教学目标:知识目标:了解沙尘暴方面的知识并掌握相关词汇:disaster, dune, citizen, dust, desertification, forecast, strength, cycle, mask, process, mass, campaign 技能目标:高中英语课程标准强调用英语获取和处理信息的能力 1).能从文章中获取主要信息并摘录要点 2).能理解文章主旨、作者意图 3).能提取、筛选和重组文章中的信息 情感目标:通过本节课的学习,使学生认识到保护环境迫在眉睫,从而提高环保意识。4教学重难点重点:1)掌握常用易考的词汇和短语:frighten, mass, process, strength, be caught in,advise sb to do, prevent sth/ sb (from) doing 2) 阅读技巧的训练难点:1. 掌握课文的主旨大意,整理出关于课文结构的主要信息。2. 运用所学的词汇和短语,围绕主题进行讨论。二、说学生1. 学生已有的认知水平和能力状况 在前面一个模块的学习中,学生已经掌握了一些介绍自然灾害的词语和句子,所以表达能力好的同学可以简单用英语描述沙尘暴的基本情况。2. 学生存在的问题 1) 学生英语基础较差,词汇量偏小而且害怕出错,所以主动运用语言的能力受到限制。 2) 虽然大多数学生有较强的环保意识,对沙尘暴这一话题可能会比较感兴趣,但由于没有亲身经历过沙尘暴,多数学生欠缺相关知识,并缺乏对其描述所需的词汇。三、说教学策略1、指导学生主动探究,合作交流。 通过设计包含自主预习、课堂练习和家庭作业三部分的学案,指导学生改进学习方式,由被动的接受知识变为主动的探究新知,并学会与他人交流和分享.2、创设英语学习的教学情境。 利用图片、视频等去创造直观的教学情境,让学生身临其境,激发学生学习兴趣,提高学生参与教学活动的主动性。四、说教学思路本节课是一节课题探讨课,目的是要探讨如何利用阅读文本在读前、读中、读后环节开展有效的词汇教学。这节课的基本思路是:1. 阅读前的词汇教学活动-扫除阅读障碍。主要方式:学生借助学案预习,初步认知目标词汇。2. 阅读中的词汇教学活动-有效呈现核心词汇。主要方式:巧妙设计问题,在问与答之中多次呈现和反复使用核心词汇。3. 阅读后的词汇教学活动-应用和巩固重点词汇。主要方式:复述课文和课外阅读同一话题的若干篇文章。五、说教学程序Step 1 Revision and lead-in:Get the students to list the natural disasters they have known.T: In last module weve mentioned a lot of natural disasters. Can you list some of them?S: Tornado, hurricane, earthquake, thunderstorm, flood, drought, etc.T: In module 3, we mainly talked about tornadoes and hurricanes. Today we are going to focus on another disaster. Now watch a video clip and answer the question: What disaster is happening?T: How much do you know about sandstorms?Step 2 Vocabulary and speakingShow some pictures on the screen and get the students to describe them. T: Weve known something about sandstorms from newspapers and TV programs. Now I am going to show you some pictures related to it. You may use the words you know or the words on the screen to describe these pictures. Look at the first picture. Can you describe it? (grassland and forest)S: (open answers) the adjectives they may use: green, beautiful, vast, fantastic, etc.T: Are they beautiful? Of course they are, but as the time went on, something unfortunate happened. People began destroying the plain. Look at these pictures and say something about them. You may use the words given on the screen.(words: desertification, cut, dig)S: possible answers: some of the land became deserts. Sandstorms appear to have increased as a result of desertification. Climate changed. People cut down trees and dig up grass.T: As a result, these beautiful grassland and forest became deserts. When strong wind blows, a sandstorm may occur. Can you describe what the weather is like? Use the words to make up sentences. (words: frightening, orange sky, strong wind, thick, brown-yellow)S: possible answers: The sky is orange in sandstorms. The wind is strong. The city is covered in a thick, brown-yellow dust. T: How do the sandstorms affect peoples life?S: possible answers: traffic is slow because the thick dust makes it difficult to see. Its dirty everywhere. Cycling in a sandstorm is frightening. Its difficult to breathe. It delays the flights. It spread illnesses.设计意图:让学生通过练习理解课文中一些新单词的含义。 Step3 Pre-readingT: Just now, we have seen many pictures related to sandstorms, do you want to know what the text will tell us? Now Read the title and look at the photo. Get the students to predict what the article will talk about.设计意图:让学生根据标题和插图来预测课文内容,以此来培养学生积极思考的习惯,并使阅读更有目的性。Step 4 While-readinga.Skimming and scanningRead the passage quickly and try to summerize the main idea of each paragraph by using one word.设计意图:培养学生快速阅读,概括大意的能力。 b.
