To be eligible for this special measure, you must have received a Certificat de slction du Qubec (CSQ) on humanitarian grounds. After you have been selected by Quebec, you have to make a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residence. You will have to have a medical exam and obtain a police certificate. CIC conducts these checks for all immigrants, wherever they intend to move in Canada. You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada.
