理想教育和任务型阅读教学案例分析高建妙一、教学设计理念:高中英语课程的总目标是使学生在义务教育阶段英语学习的基础上,进一步明确英语学习的目的,发展自主学习和合作学习的能力;形成有效的英语学习策略;培养学生的综合语言运用能力。综合语言运用能力的形成建立在语言技能,语言知识,情感态度,学习策略和文化意识等素养整合发展的基础上。语言技能和语言知识是综合语言运用能力的基础/情感态度是影响学生学习和发展的重要因素。学习策略是提高学习效率,发展自主学习能力的先决条件。文化意识则是得体运用语言的保障。新课程标准中提到, 高中英语课程应根据高中学生的认知特点和学习发展需要,在进一步发展学生基本语言运用能力的同时,着重提高学生获取信息,处理信息,分析和解决问题的能力,逐步培养学生用英语进行思维和表达的能力,为学生进一步学习和发展创造必要的条件。阅读技能的教学目的:培养阅读策略;培养语感;特别强调培养学生在阅读过程中获取和处理信息的能力。材料选择:贴近学生生活和语言水平;题材广泛,体裁多样;具有思想性、趣味性、知识性、挑战性和时代性。教师角色:鼓励、启发、引导、帮助、监控、参与、反馈与评价。英语学科教学具有很强的思想性。全日制高级中学英语教学大纲指出教学中应该遵循英语教学规律,寓思想教育于语言教学之中。在课堂教学改革过程中,既要注意遵循语言教学的规律,巩固、扩大学生的基础知识,发展听、说、读、写的基本技能,培养他们的交际和阅读能力;又要注意将思想品德教育贯穿于外语教学之中。新编高中教材是一套系列教材,课文所涉及的题材比较广泛,有的与我们的生活密切相关,有的是人类所共同关心的问题。具有时代感,思想性、知识性和真实性。本单元的主题是“Life in the future”。通过本单元的学习,要让学生了解科学技术进步在未来生活中的巨大推动作用。教师借助听力、讨论、阅读、写作等一系列扎实有效的教学活动,进一步拓展学生想象力,提升其语言实践能力,让他们意识到只有树立正确的理想,用自己的智慧和勤劳的双手才能改造社会,为人类造福。本节课的中心话题是未来的生活,具体内容涉及未来的交通,商业,医药与健康,知识与教育等,激发学生的思维,引起学生对未来人类生活的幻想和想象。二、课堂实录:Teaching aims:1. Have a good understanding of the text and learn some useful words and expressions.2. Improve the Ss reading ability.3. Get the Ss to make an ideal for the future, then make every effort to realize it. 4. Get the Ss know more about the future and enrich the Ss imagination.Key points: Have a good understanding of the text through the exercises.Difficulties: To talk about the questions in Post-readingTeaching aids: computer, tape-recorderTeaching steps:Step I: lead inTask 1: Planning my futureHelp:1. Divide the students into 8-10 groups. 2. Each student chooses one job and asks as many questions as possible.3. Group members role-play the discussion by asking and settling questions.4. Collect creative ideas from the groups and enjoy them.(设计意图:为了启发学生思考,激发学生的思维,树立正确的理想,引起学生对未来人类生活的幻想和想象.)After several minutes.T: Can you predict your own future? Here all of you have the chance to express your aims or dreams.S: Id like to be an inventor. Ill invent a new spaceship which travels in space very easily and cheaply. So we can make a trip to the moon or the Mars. S: Id like to become an architect. Ill try to design the most beautiful buildings in the world so that everyone who travels in Beijing wants to pay it a visit. S: I want to be a physician. Ill devote myself to studying the cause of AIDS so that the people in Asia and Africa are free from this deadly disease.T: Now lets invite some pairs to report their own discussion.SA: Mr. Zhang, Im 17 years old and want to become a scientist. I want to know what I need to do in order to become a scientist.SB: Well, thats a good idea. To be a scientist, you need to be interested in science first.SA: Thats true. I show great interest in how the satellite works. Anything else?SB: Being a scientist, you should not only be curious about nature but also determined. While doing experiments you may come across many troubles. You should be determined to overcome them in order to achieve your aim.SA: Then where can I receive my education on satellites, space etc.?SB: As to this question, you can go to the library or surf the Internet for help. I think there are quite a few such universities both in China and the USA.SA: How long should I study this?SB: Well, it depends. Maybe as long as ten years. SA: Thanks for your advice. I think Ill work hard at my lessons and try to read more science books to lay good foundations for my future.SB: Good luck to you.Step II: Pre-reading:T: First, lets scan our text very quickly and find out in which paragraph you can find the answers to these questions of task 1. How will people shop in the future? Para_. How will people travel in the future? Para_. What will schools be like in the future? Para_. What development is expected in health. Para_. What will the future be like in the future? Para_.(设计意图:要求学生采用快速浏览的方式确定不同段落的主题,潜移默化地培养学生skimming这一非常有效的阅读技巧。这样既能激发学生探究这五个问题的答案,又能引导学生归纳主题,同时对学生的快速阅读能力提出了要求。)Three minutes later, ask some of them to speak out their answers.T: Now, lets check our answer together.S: we can find the answer to question 1 in paragraph 3.S: we can find the answer to question 2 in paragraph 2.S: we can find the answer to question 3 in paragraph 5.S: we can find the answer to question 4 in paragraph 4.S: we can find the answer to question 5 in paragraph 1.T: Usually, we can get a general idea about the text in the first paragraph. What can you know from the last paragraph? The writer usually drew a conclusion about the text. So you can find your answer to question 5 in both paragraph one.Step III: While-reading:T: You did a good job. Now lets read our text carefully this time and judge the statements of task 2 true or false. If the statement is false, tell me the reason why the statement is false. Read the statements carefully first.:(Two minutes) Do you have any difficulty in understanding the sentences? :o.T: If not, please read the text carefully and silently by yourselves.1.Second reading for details:1) Ask the Ss to read the text again. Then judge the statements true or false. It is not easy to predict the life in the future. Although a new maglev train travels, it may do harm to the environment. It is the internet that makes it easier for companies to keep in touch with customers. New discoveries in genetics and biochemistry may change the way people make medicines and cure diseases. In the future students will have no homework any longer. The high-pace life style and highly-developed society requires people in the future to become lifelong learners.(设计意图: 让学生在阅读的过程中,善于捕捉信息,并对信息进行处理,做出自己的判断。训练学生的处理信息的能力。)(Five minutes later)T: Lets check the answers with the whole class Key: TFTTFTS1: The first sentence is true.S2: The second sentence is false , because the new maglev train is environmentally friendly, so it wont do harm to the environment.S3: The third sentence is true.S4: The fourth sentence is true.S5: The fifth sentence is false, because homework will be always be homework. Even in the future, students will still have homework, but it may be a bit different.S6: The last sentence is true.T: Ok, How many fields does the writer talk about?S: four fields.T: What are they? S: Transportation, Business, Health and medicine, Education and knowledge.T: Good, lets go through our text again and fill in the chart using the information you get from the text. Try to use the key words and phrases. I will give you an example, What field does the writer talk about first? What will the transportation be like in the future? Why will it be like that? (Give them an example). Are you clear, Ok, lets have a competition, the right three lines fill in the first two columns and the left three lines fill in the rest two columns, lets see who can be the first to finish the task.2. Third reading to answer the following questions.1. What will happen in the field of health and medicine in the future ?2. Can you explain the meaning of E-learning ?3. Why is it important to be life long learners?4. What should we do to make sure we will have a bright future ?(设计意图: 培养学生的概括和归纳能力。要让学生了解科学技术进步在未来生活中的巨大推动作用,让他们意识到只有树立正确的理想,用自己的智慧和勤劳的双手才能改造社会,为人类造福。)five minutes later, T checks the answer together.T: Now , who can answer the first question ?S1:people in the future will be able to enjoy a longer and healthier life and re4main active even in old age. People will pay more attention to the importance of a healthy diet and an active life. Some new diseases such as SARS , smallpox have already been defeated by new medicines.T: Good .Please sit down. Now lets answer the second question. Who wants to have a try?S2:let me try. “E-learning means to learn on the internet” . That is to say, we can study by watching educators on TV or on a computer screen, whenever we have time and wherever we are.T: Do you agree with his answer?Ss: Yes.T: OK. Now ,who has got the answer to the third question?S3: I have. Because knowledge is changing all the time, it is important and necessary to be life long learners.T: Thats right. Anybody volunteers to answer the last question?S4: We should try to learn to accept change and appreciate what is new and different. And we should learn more knowledge to fit in with the needs of the society. We should make great efforts to make our dreams come true.:After finishing our task, can you tell me what kind of life we will have in the future?Ss:comfortable, convenient , longer, healthier, active . :Is that our whole life? s;NO, That is just a part of our life, then in what other fields we can go on talking about? I give you several minutes to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the following things: future transportation ,smart cards ,online shopping and E-school.
