The Shawshank RedemptionThe reserved banker was sent to Shawshank Prison named Andy, who was sentenced to murder his wife and her lover. However, Andy was not the murderer. Andy behaved quietly which different from others when he came to Shawshank Prison. He began to know Red and often was harassed by the Sisters. On the other side, Andy showed his talent to help the guards the tax returned at the Shawshank. One day, Andy wounded was badly by the Sisters. Sadly, Andy spent a mouth in the infirmary. Bogs spent a week in the hole and were disabled by the guards. Its the end of Andys hard time. More and more inmates respected Andy for his talent. He was assigned to do laundries and help Brooks conduct the library. Brooks, finally, released and died lonely outside as a result of his institutionalization. It took Andy six years keeping writing letter every week to obtained the states funds for expanding the library. Unimaginably, Andy played music in prison to let everyone enjoy it. However, it infuriated the warden. From that time, he wrote two letters to the state. Finally, he got 500 dollars form the state every year.The warden let Andy clean his black money. In 1965, Tommy came to the Shawshank. Andy helped him get his high school diploma. When Andy got to known the detail information about murdering his wife, he wanted to prove his clean to the warden. Unfortunately, the warden didnt want Andy to go out and afraid that Andy would disclose his bribery. The warden sent Andy to solitary a mouth. Then, the warden murdered Tommy.That Tommys death and the wardens selfish makes Andy want to end this and find his freedom. One night, Andy escaped from the Shawshank Prison through his hole which he dug many years. His successful escape and disclosing the wardens bribery end Andys hard time and the guilt of the warden. At last, Red released and found Andy where they promise before.This film implicated three things which are important in our daily life. They are hope, friendship and institutionalization. The film tells us a meaningful story with detail scene. You can find the three things anywhere.Hope, a simple word to all of us, is the most important thing in Andys heart and also in our lives. When Andy entered the Shawshank Prison, he didnt feel desperate and became quiet. He knew that it was not his last days; knew what he should do was enduring and knew that he must pursue his own freedom. Firstly, he became patience and quiet about being harassed by the Sisters. He wouldnt give in and just be himself as usual. He thought that it would end someday and there is hope behind it. Consequently, Bogs disabled and Andy came back to normal life. Secondly, he kept writing letters to the state for the funds six years. He knew that it would succeed. Hope is the key for him to obtain the funds. Thirdly, Andy obeyed the wardens requirements without question. What Andy should do is keeping silent. It didnt mean that Andy helped the warden at will. Andy wouldnt stand the wardens guilt all the time. One day, he would penalize the warden. Its also the hope made Andy to endure this. Then, he disclosed the wardens bribery when Andy came out. Finally, Andy spent many years to finish digging the hole with a small hammer. During Andys escaping, Andy bore the disgusting smell in sewer. The hope made him succeed for his freedom. Andys patience and his talent contributed to his escape when hope filled in his heart. Friendship is one of the emotions in society. Andys special and quiet attracted Red. Red helped Andy get rock hammer, poster and rocks. Their friendship based on their faith. Andy obtained some beers for his inmates when they repaired the roof. They enjoyed this contemporary freedom. Andy did it quietly. Maybe it was another good way to express his love. Andys inmates respect him. When Andy came back from the infirmary, they collected a lot of rocks and Red prepared another poster for Andy. It was a special mental cure for Andy. It calls “friendship”. Respect and belief are the bases of friendship. Red promised that he would find Andy if he was released. Finally, Red found Andy. Their relationship would last forever. They cherished the friendship because they know that the rest of their life should be more meaningful. Friendship is able to produce a magic power to finish things impossible. In reality, we should pursue our happiness. On the other hand, we need to seek happiness for others. Friends are the wealth of our whole life. Institutionalization is a word we often heard. It shows us how the prison experience can influence someone until it is the only life one knows and how he can begin to rely on the institution of the prison itself. At the beginning of this movie, Red said he can get things for people. It gave him a special status among the prisoners. Yet, he had used to his lifestyle within the walls of the prison. He explained that: “these walls are funny. First you hate them, then you get used to them, until it gets to you depend on them. Thats institutionalized.” Red was institutionalized by this prison. If he were leave for other place, he would be unsure of his role in society and he would no longer be the guy who can get things. Another guy is Brooks, the prison librarian, was institutionalized typically. Brooks had been in prison for 50 years before finally being released. When he was released, he didnt know how to react. He attempted to murder a prisoner so that he could stay in prison.
