8月机经verbal 1.这是第一个verbal部分出来的第一个填空题！它说resignation这个概念是一个paradox，既是一个bold step，把自己脱离出去，又是一个_。paradox是自相矛盾的两种特质，所以空格对应bold step的反义重复。但是选项中有一个是passivity，还有一个是desperation，我当时的感觉是，我去，第一题就这么subtle这么不好选！后来还是选了passivity，我觉得这个更体现被动的特征，desperation还是意识形态层面。不过这题有待商榷哈。& B! Y- R% F1 g& f2.说一个科学家观察了宇宙中的dust什么的，发现是一个region的two percent，然后因此_了她关于dust 占很小比重的论断。两者是同意重复，2%就是小比重嘛，所以这个六选2选的两个词是highlight和accentuate，表示突出强调。3.说某个人很喜欢_，然后列举了两个什么and什么，什么and什么的例子，（两组词都是相反的）还有就是bland and_.第一个空格选极端，忘记正确选项了= =第二空选bland的反义词呗，选项中有vacuous, lurid, uninspiring三个，我觉得这题还蛮难的，bland好久没有出现过，意思都不记得了，后来想起来好像是温和的意思，所以选lurid。. 4.说一个具有solemn persona, 一个同位语从句解释说是对什么什么的commitment，但是this_ is intimidating。空格应该是solemn persona的同意重复，persona是啥？红宝反正没有，solemn认识吧？但是这题难在选项，有banality, solicitude, gravitas 还有俩不记得了。我用排除法剩下了gravitas，看起来像个拉丁语，我也不认识，就选了，后来一查发现就是沉稳庄重的意思。还记得那 道found her gravity rather intimidating嘛？一回事。5.有道特别弱的两空题，完全不记得题干说什么了，只记得第一空的选项是question, favor, oppose, 第二空的选项是eager, willing, loathe。激动地泪流满面有木有啊亲！弱爆了啊！上课怎么说的啊，两个方向相同的话果断选那个方向相反的吧！所以选favor 和 loathe，一检查题中是用了个but连接的！所以没问题。6.一个什么东西，是_的，然后一个同位语从句说是product of blablabla。正确选项应该是inevitable和unavoidable，表示一种自然产出，不可避免。这两个词还蛮好看出是同义词的。7.20世纪中期（具体什么时间不记得了），说政治被认为是_，然而事实上（用了一个特别文艺和书面的表达，好像是corridors of the politics with the sparkly disparate voices还是神马）。看看同学们！意见一致和冲突分歧的对应！空格要填意见一致，选的是consensus（红宝重点哟亲！）和accord（四级单词哟亲！但是有一致和谐的意思你知道吗？另外一个比较重要的动词意思是赋予给予哈！）8.一道并列递进结构的题，blabla列举了两个，然后_，说就是这些ordinary的东西怎么怎么样。所以空格继续填平凡常见，选unprepossessing（三空题有没有好好听啊亲！saatchi先生选址那道题出现了哈！不吸引人的）和 unattractive。这题选项有4个都是un开头的，F选项我记得是unruffled。说了un-ed结构一定会出现哈！这个词上课没讲 过，ruffle表示褶皱，这个取反表示平静没有波浪的。9.scientists worry if 全球气候变暖和某地海平面上升的connection继续持续的话，那么这将会_bigger changes。热点啊！环保题！我六个选项全都记得哟！分别是presage, exacerbate, avert, obscure, portend, forestall。除了portend这词，其他词都是讲过的，全是重点高频有木有！我把avert obscure和forstall排除了，剩下portend我也不认识，纠结了一会觉得presage预示预兆应该要选，exacerbate是加重， 所以赌了一把选了portend！后来一查这也是预示预兆的意思哈！虽然我上课总结过预示预兆的此群，但是当时没有这个词，我的失误，以后加上！这也是第一次出现，红宝里面没有。= =我也不认识。10.一道三空题超级简单，说是since invasive species 会severely reduce the number of native species and even _ their existence, 然后说it is _ to _ the introduction of invasive species blabla.就考了一个因果关系。第一个空格和reduce the number of 是并列，选了个preclude，还记得我讲这词怎么举例的吗？月黑风高的晚上，你把你的竞争对手做掉了？哈哈。就是一个意思。第二空选了 prudent，有远见有眼光的，第三空是Minimize，既然invasive species有害，所以应该负方向动作减少遏制它们的引进。11.另外一个三空题是说森林什么东西的，有些学者认为会对森林产生不好的影响甚至_, 第二空忘记了，因此也会_ damage 。都是说不好的影响，第一空选一个backfire，这个意思其实和counterproductive差不多，事与愿违，不好的结果。第三空宾语是 damage，负评价，空格继续正方向，选一个increase。很弱对不对？考试时候三空题也仔细看看啊！万一是送分呢！12.说哲学现在是一种_的occupation，and rather be“general 什么的”!其实体现的是平凡常见和高深的对比关系，记得四个选项，challenging, exacting, recondite, esoteric。答案应该是后两个，表示晦涩难懂的，说哲学不应该高高在上，而是要和普通人的生活联系到一起，促进well being神马的。我居然选了前两个，这个section结束以后我就反应过来了。TAT。所以说啊！不要看到同义词就选啊亲！13.讲说一个小说家，写了一本叫什么simple soybean的小说还是啥，much less unrestrained in the description of the soys medical efficiency than blabla, 但是这个作者cautions 不让soy成为一个什么。逻辑有点绕，说是作者对于soy医疗效果的描述无拘无束没有限制，就是很夸很吹捧它，但是有个转折，所以取反，不能过度吹捧它呗。选了一个 panacea和cure-all，表示万灵药，第一个词是红宝的，第二个可以猜。查了韦氏发现panacea的同义词赤果果地写着cure-all啊同 学们！14.尽管一个男的说话很少，但是他thoroughly understood his mother, he is far from _ as people thought. far from引导的对比关系。完全理解的反义重复，我选的是simple，其他选项比如comprehensive啊之类的都不对。 15.关于language instinct的一些人_某种观点认为languange is the zenith of human intellect and blabla。zenith这词好久不出现了，没类反以后以为不会考了呢，表示顶点，这些人认为语言是人类智慧的顶峰，所以和那一派认为语言是本能的人观点是冲突矛盾的，选的是jarring，不和谐的，矛盾的。16.关于laser一道激光的题。说广泛用于CD player啊之类commonplace的东西，然后说_ of laser doesnt mean laser can only be used in _ ways.又是平凡常见的题。第一空选everyday presence，表示laser的用途广泛，第二空填pedestrian,也是平凡常见的。这个空还有一个词是pointless，我居然还纠结了一 下，这是表示无意义的，无用的，负评价，题干没这么说。谁说CD player的用途就pointless啦！17.economical growth 被认为是_发展中国家（还是穷国忘记了）消除贫困的手段，but this prescription 有很多concern ，比如环境问题什么的。又是有利有弊的典型转折关系咯，后面说它不好，前面就说好。但是注意这题体现了指代关系！空格应该是prescription的同意重复，应该选 recipe，不要以为这个词只有菜谱的意思，你去查韦氏发现第一个意思同义词就是prescription，a formula or procedure for doing or attaining something ，获得或达成某事的一种手段，这题出的特别好。陪考选项还有panacea（很容易误选），还有一个culprit（这个词红宝有吗？意思是罪犯，我还是不认识= =）18.这是一道第三个section的三空题，说建筑师应该be achieved in a spirit of _.
