Unit 4 Why dont you talk to your parents?(3a-4c) 安顺市实验学校 邓伟健学习目标1. 通过阅读两封信,我们学会遇到问题时要主动的去和家人,朋友,同学交流。2. 学习文章中出现的重点单词,词组和句型。3. 培养学生的阅读,写作,口语能力。4. 教师引导学生思考,学习。学生主体参与,师生互动,生生互动。5. 法制渗透Step1.Greetings (1minute) How are you? Whats the weather like today?Step2.Eliciting (3mins) Let the students to see a video .Ask:What happened to the girl?(Her parents fight a lot.)法制渗透(PPT)第二章 家庭保护第十条 父母或者其他监护人应当创造良好、和睦的家庭环境,依法履行对未成年人的监护职责和抚养义务。Ask:What can she do?( She could write a letter to a teacher /a friend for advice. She could talk to somebody.)Say:Good .Lets see a letter from a student to a counselor teacher.(PPT)Step3.Reading(scanning) (10mins)To set the scene for activity 3a, the T focus Ssattention on the two letters and encourage them to talk about what the boy is writing about.Ss just guess from the beginning ,the ending and the pictures with books closed.(PPT)Ask:Why is the Ss name sad and thirteen?(Maybe he is a thirteen-year-old boy.He feels sad and worried.)Ask: Whats his problem?(His parents argue a lot.)Say:So what are the family members arguing about? Act them out.(Give them two minutes to discuss with each other . Ss can imagine )Ss act what parents may argue about in front of the class.Step 4 Reading (10mins) Ask Ss read the two letters to find the detailed information and fill in the chart .Check the answers(PPT)Sad and Thirteens main problems:He cant get on with his family.Robert Hunts advice: to talk about these feelings with his family.About his parentsHis parents fight a lot and he doesnt know what to do He should offer to help parents.He could do more jobs around the house.About his elder brotherHis elder brother is not nice to him and refuses to let him watch his favorite TV show.He could sit down and communicate with his brotherlHe should explain that he doesnt mind his brother watching TV all the time.but he should let him watch his favorite show.About himselfHe feels lonely and nervousAsk individuals to point out useful and important phrases:elder brother refuse to do let sb do its normal to do talk about so that communicate with mind sb doing why dont you do /why not argue with(drilling of the words and the letters.)Step5 listening and reading (5mins)Ss remember the phrases through listening and reading aloud. And also can practice spoken English more fluently.Step6 Making stories (8mins)Make Ss learn to use the phrases well in a more interesting way and practice writing as well. Let Ss divide in two groups of boys and girls .They make a story using the phrases above to see which is funnier.Say:I will give you five minutes to make sentences using the phrases that we just learned. Then you write your sentences one by one .The sentences make a whole funny story.(Write the first sentence on the Bb:My cat feels lonely)The T check with the students to see if there is any grammar mistakes.Step 7free talk (5mins)Since SS know about the letters well. Encourage Ss to think about what kind of problems .Show the main problems the middle school students may have (PPT).Ss are in goups and give advice to the problems. The most people who give answers to the problems are the winners.I left my homework at home.I am very shy ,My sister spends all even on the phone.My parents wont let me have a pet.My best friend does not trust me anymore.My parents always argue.We have a lot of homework.I have a lit
