Go for it 八年级下册 Unit 9 Have you ever been to a museum?Section B Writing 张国红 一、Teaching objectives1. Students can use “Have you ever been to, It is/It lies in the ” to introduce our own hometown. 2. Students can introduce our own hometown by talking about its location, population, weather, history, places of interest, food and so on.3. Teach the students to love our own hometown.2. Language skills Students can use the skills “listening, speaking, and writing”. Especially the writing skills. They can use the right writing skill and steps to complete the short composition in 3b. They also can use the right writing skill to make some sentences with “I likebecause, It lies in., Have you ever been to.? Have you ever tried.? It has many places of interest.”3. Learning strategy Students should learn to do things from easy ones to difficult ones. They must learn and master the ways of learning and can think by themselves. But if they are in trouble, they can ask the teacher or classmates for help, they should learn something in pairs or in groups.4. Personal objectives Tell the students “Love our own hometown”, so they should learn more about our hometown and try to do something for our hometown.5. Culture awareness Different places have different special signs. 二、Teaching importance and difficulties1. Teaching importance Learn and master the right writing skills and can correct their composition after they finish it.2. Teaching difficulties How to make the students learn and use the right writing skills and steps to complete their composition.三、Teaching aids The multi-media, PPT四、Teaching procedures Stage 1 the greeting of class (预备铃后的课前活动)1) Introduction I introduction myself to the students and greet the students.2) Warm-up Play the song “醉美泸州”for the students to listen.Stage 2 Pre-writingStep 1 Check preparation (with games) Ask the students to say out the phrases or sentence structures in the learning paper .Step 2 Revise and Lead-in Ask the students something about Singapore by asking and answering questions.Then show a mind map to the students and ask them some questions to the students. If they cant answer any questions, show them some pictures with PPT and help them to answer.Stage 3 While-writing Step 1 Information cardAsk the students to finish off the information card in their learning paper with the information they learnt. Step 2 Make sentences The students try to write out 5 to 7 sentences with the information in step 1, then ask some students to read out their sentences.Step 3 Writing Ask the students to write a short passage with the sentences and the phrases in their information card.Stage 4 Post-writing Step 1 DiscussionAfter the students finish the passages, ask the students to discuss their composition with their group members, and try to find their mistakes and corret their mistakes. Step 2 Show Ask some students to write their composition on the small blackboard, the others read and try to find his or her mistakes. Then give scores to their works.Step 3 Homework 1. Ask the students to rewrite their composition on their exercise books and remind them to pay attention to the handwriting. 2. Try to introduce a place that they have ever been to before.Stage 5 Blackboard design Unit 9 Have you ever been to a museum? Teaching reflection In this period, students learn to write something about our own hometown, this is relating to their lives. So the students like it, after I play the song to them, they want to talk about something about our hometown. Because of their limited vacabularies and knowledge, they dont know how to express what they want to say. I use PPT to show some pictures and numbers to them, it helps them to show their feeling, this also reduces the difficulties. And in order to encourage the students to write bravely, I follow the right learning strategy-l
