Unit 2 Vacation Plans 教材分析This is the second unit of the fifth grade English book Making plans, which requires students to talk about their vacation experiences based on the original English knowledge and use the appropriate sentence patterns for skilled questioning and description. 教学目标【知识目标】Key phrases: by ship ,by plane, by bus, by train, stay in a hotel, stay with my aunt and uncle, go camping, go sightseeingKey structures: How are you going to get to ? To make plans for vacation.【情感目标】To form a good habit of doing things with plans and goals. 教学重难点【教学重点】Master the phrase of this unit and the use of the general future tense.【教学难点】Skillfully use phrases and sentence patterns to ask and describe plans. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程Step 1. ReviewT: What are you going to do this weekend? S1: Im going toStep 2. Warm-up1. Listen and look.2. Answer the questions:(1) Is next week a holiday?(2) Who is Jenny going to have a picnic with ?(3) What is Gogo going to do in the vacation?(4) What is he going to do there?Step 3. Presentation1. T:Tony is going to go to Shanghai by ship this weekend.Hes going to stay in a hotel in Shanghai.2. T: I am going to go to Beijing by plane this weekend.I am going to stay with my aunt and uncle in Beijing.3. T:Jenny is going to go to Huangshan by bus this weekend.Shes going to go camping there.4. T:Gogo is going to go to Tianjin by train this weekend.Hes going to go sightseeing there.5. Listen to the tape. Ss read after the tape.6. Ss read together.Step 4 Practice1. Read, Listen, and check.(1)Ask the Ss to read the questions first.(2)Ask the Ss to use“He/She is going there by ” to tell about questions A-B.(3)Listen to the questions A-B and check the answers.(4)Ask the Ss to use“He is going to ” to tell about questions C-D.(5)Listen to the questions C-D and check the answers.2. Ask, answer and write.T:May Day is coming. Gogo is going to Hong Kong for vacation. How is he going to get to Hong Kong? Ss:He is going by bus. Ss practice in groups.Step 5. Reading and Writing 1. Turn to Page 22, lets go camping. Fill in the blanks with a-e in page 23. 2. T translates the passage to let the Ss know more about it.3. Ask and answerT: Where are the Wilsons going?S1:They are going to Beijing.T: Good. Why do they want to go?S2:They like riding bikes, so they want to see the cycling events. T: Perfect. Where are they going to stay?S3:They are going to stay in a hotel near the Olympic Park.T:Very good!4. T translates the conversations to let the Ss know more about it.Step 6. Chant activity(Page 24)1. Ask the Ss to listen to the song:Were going.2. Ss follow the tape to sing the song.3. After practicing several times,Ss sing together.4. Ss finish the lyrics and T check the answers.Step 7. Pronunciation1. T:Fly, fly, fly a kite.So high in the sky.Why, why, why do you cry?My kite is not in the sky.Dry, dry, dry your eyes.The kite is now flying high! (Underline the letter “y”)T: Look at these words.
