character and chapterThe most impressed character is Mary-the kind, positive, brave and beautiful girl. To be honest, when I meet her at the beginning of The Secret Garden, is a spoiled, unattractive, petulant ten-year-old girl, and then I witness her change qualitatively.I can image that a ugly duckling convert into a swan. It is not so much her beauty as her talents makes me love her. The another person is colin -the thin, bad temper, alone ,and weak boy. when I first meet him , it is frienghting for me ,he cried at midnight .but also ,when he talked with mary .i think he is a lonely boy, although the people who worked at misselthwaite mannor have to obey his words, but no one can make him happy and make him believe that he will live .so he does not have a true friend . this is why he has bad temper. He avoid go out to connect with people and the nature .although he always said, he would died, so he could not go out ,in fact , he love his life very much ,because he love it ,so he cannot go out .The third person is dickon-the brave, handsome, friendly, optimistic and active boy. When he doesnt appear in the story ,from his old sister, Martha, we know he is active and interesting boy. He can make friends with animal ,such as, birds, fox, and cows.everyone in the place like him , of course, including mary and colin . he can communicate with animal which attract mary and colin. Also he has rich experiences with nature which mary and colin did not connect with before. Chapter：The most impressed chapter is a small part. In the chapter of Magic: the seeds Dicken and Mary had planted grew as if fairies had tended them. Satiny(光滑的) poppies of all tints danced in the breeze by the score, gaily defying flowers which had lived in the garden for years and which it might be confessed seemed to wonder how such new people had got there. And the rosethe rose! Rising out of the grass, tangled round the sun-dial, wreathing the tree trunks and hanging from their branches, climbing up the walls and spreading over them with long garlands falling in cascadesthey came alive day by day, hour by hour. Fair fresh leaves, and budsand budtiny at first but swelling and working Magic until they burst and uncurled into cups of scent delicately spilling themselves over their brims and filling the garden air.I like this chapter because three reasons. Firstly, this chapter is very important in this whole book. Connecting the foregoing and introduce the following. It is a tie between before and last. Secondly, this words and phrases in this paragraph are very beautiful and delicately. Thirdly, from this paragraph I can see the hope and happiness. The three children get together and share happiness. So I like this chapter and impressed most.Personal understanding This is a foreign masterpiece. This story content is very wonderful, let person have feeling very much after read it. This book first public in 1911, I always thinks, why some books can be liked by people for such a long time? As for as I know the important reason is nourishment that this book given children. This book can give people comprehensions and happiness, both children and adults. At the same time, adult always ignore the pleasure, even abandoned pleasure. Mr.Carven decided to bury the key of the garden and forget this thing. He hushes the secret up and nobody knows it. So he lost happiness, lost love. The secret garden talks about the friendship, nature and the attitude of life . It is filled with the passion and enthusiasm to life. The book tells us something about attitude to life. If you want your life full of successes, you must have a good attitude and good character.But now,I will mainly talk about the nature. Arthur miller wrote The rite of spring . in the essay,he said “I garden,I suppose ,because I must ”，he must keep the garden ,because garden is magic. Although Arthur miller has many reasons not to keep the garden ,but he must keep it. Of course,in the secret garden ,the garden means magic,too. When mary didnt touth with garden ,she was a queer girl .she always anger and was ugly,but when she ran out of the windows and found the garden,she became more and more beautiful. And another person-colin ,he is weak .thin,and queer,but when he heared mary said the garden ,he was so happy and it seemed that he has energy to do things about garden .so when he go out ,go to the garden ,he change himself . he think he can alive forever.why ?why mary and colin change themselves?the only answer is that garden s magic.let them change themselves. As far as I am concerned,garden in the spring is very attractive. As Arthur miller said “but inevitably a morning arrives when,just as I am awakening,a scent wafts through the window ,something like earth-as-air,a scent that seems to come up from the very center of this plant. And the sun means business,suddenly,and has a different,deeper yellow in its beams on thfe carpet. The birds begin sreaming hysterically , thinking what I am thinking the worms are deliciously worming their way though the melting soil.” It is magic,the magic is air ,animal ,green,and sun. I think garden is magic is the most important view of this book.Reason :I like the book because it is a happy ending. Everyone breaks away the secret garden in their heart. In my opinion, there is a secret in everyone heart in which there are something like bad memories or sad experience that they do not want other
