Warm-up and Revision(课堂热身)Revision: (1)Complete the sentences using for or since.1. I have been to a museum_2. I havent written a letter_3. I havent ridden a bike_4. I havent seen a movie_5. I havent played computer games_Allow Ss to use their own ideas to complete the sentences. Then check if they are able to use for and since correctly.(2)Complete the conversation.A: Hey Eric,_ you enjoyed your time in Beijing so far?B: Yes, it _ been great! Everyone is friendly.A: How long _ you been in China now?B: Oh, I _ here _ about two years now.A: Wow, that means you havent _ back to the US for two years?B: No, I _ been back twice _ moving to China. _ you been to the US before, Li Juan?A: Yes, I went there once when I _ 10 years old, but I _ not been back _ then.(3) TranslationT: Lets translate the following phrases into English.1. 到城市寻早工作 search for work in the cities2. 一个46岁的丈夫与父亲 a 46-year-old husband and father3. 一年至少一次 at least once a year 4. 在许多地方 in many places5. 从城市派老师来帮助send teachers from the cities to helpWarm up: (group work)T: Free talk: Talk about the softest and sweetest memories in your childhood.Encourage Ss to express their ideas. Elicit responses by asking them some questions, e.g. What made you feel good? Why do you remember this so well?教学设计说明:为后面的写作教学作铺垫。先口头小组讨论,积累素材。2. Work on 3aT: Think about your favorite thing from childhood which you still have. For example, it can be a toy or a book. Then take notes using the questions.1. How long have you had it?2. How did you get it? Did someone give it to you? Who?3. Why do you like it so much? Why is it special?4. Can you say anything more about it?Show the mind map on slide 11 to Ss. Demonstrate to them how to brainstorm ideas using the Wh-words (What, Why, When, Who, How long, etc.) Remind Ss that using a mind map and Wh- words is one of the effective ways of organizing their ideas before writing. 教学设计说明:为下面的写作进一步奠定基础,做好铺垫。更加具体写作的目标和方向,让基础中等和差一点的学生提笔有写。3. Work on 3bT: Write three paragraphs about your favorite thing. Peer assessmentT: Exchange your writings. Read your partners writing, and correct any mistakes you have noticed.
