Worksheet高考英语阅读理解之写作视角题专题复习 Example 1: 2012年浙江卷Passage AEaster is still a great day for worship, candy in baskets and running around the yard finding eggs, but every year it gets quite a bit worse for bunnies. And no, not because the kids like to pull their ears. The culprit is climate change, and some researchers found that rising temperatures are having harmful effects on at least five species of rabbit in the US.45. Which best describes the writers tone in the passage? A. Approving.B. Concerned.C. Enthusiastic.D. Doubtful. Example 2: 2013年嘉兴基础测试卷Passage CAs you all know, the United States is a country on wheels. Nearly eight million new cars are made each year; four families out of five own at least one car, and more than a quarter have two each. Yet youll be surprised to learn that some of the car-owners even suffer from malnutrition(营养不良).50. The writer describes the United States as “a country on wheels” by _. A. providing some dataB. presenting a scene C. giving an analysis D. making a comparison Example 3: 2011年浙江卷Passage CNew challenges for customer care have come when people can obtain goods and services through telephone call centers and the Internet. For example, many companies now have to invest (投资) a lot of money in information technology and staff training in order to cope with the “phone rage” caused by delays in answering calls, being cut off in mid-conversation or left waiting for long periods.51. The writer mentions “phone rage”(Paragraph 3)to show that _. A. customers often use phones to express their anger B. people still prefer to buy goods online C. customer care becomes more demanding D. customers rely on their phones to obtain services Example 4: 2013年浙江卷Passage BBelow is a selection from a popular science book.If blood is red, why are vein(静脉) blue?Actually, veins are not blue at all. They are more of a clear, yellowish colour. Although blood looks red when its outside the body, when its sitting in a vein near the surface of the skin, its more of a dark reddish purple colour. At the right depth, these blood-filled veins reflect less red light than the surrounding skin, making them look blue by comparison.Which works harder, your heart or your brain? That kind of depends on whether youre busy thinking or busy exercising. Your heart works up to three times harder during exercise, and shifts enough blood over a lifetime to fill a supertanker. But, in the long run, your brain probably tips it, because even when youre sitting still your brain is using twice as much energy as your heart, and it takes four to five times as much blood to feed it.Why do teeth fall out, and why dont they grow back in grown-up?Baby (or “milk”) teeth do not last long; they fall out to make room for bigger, stronger adult teeth later on. Adult teeth fall out when they become damaged, decayed and infected by bacteria. Once this second set of teeth has grown in, youre done. When theyre gone, theyre gone. This is because nature figures youre set for life, and what controls regrowth of your teeth switches off.Do old people shrink as they age?Yes and no. Many people do get shorter as they age. But, when they do, it isnt because theyre shrinking all over. They simply lose height as their spine(脊柱) becomes shorter and more curved due to disuse and the effects of gravity(重力). Many (but not all) men and women do lose height as they get older. Men lose an average of 34 cm in height as they age, while women may lose 5 cm or more. If you live to be 200 years old, would you keep shrinking till you were, like 60 cm tall, like a little boy again? No, because old people dont really shrink! It is not that they are growing backwardstheir legs, arms and backbones getting shorter. When they do get shorter, its because the spine has shortened a little. Or, more often, become more bent and curved. Why does spinning make you dizzy(眩晕的)?Because your brain gets confused between what youre seeing and what youre feeling. The brain senses that youre spinning using special gravity-and-motion-sensing organs in your inner ear, which work together with your eyes to keep your vision and balance stable. But, when you suddenly stop spinning the system goes out control, and your brain thinks youre moving while youre not!Where do feelings and emotions come from?Mostly from an ancient part of the brain called the limbic system. All mammals have this brain areafrom mice to dogs, cats, and humans. So all mammals feel basic emotions like fear, pain and pleasure. But since human feelings also involve other, newer bits of the brain, we feel more complex emotions than any other animals on the planet. If exercise wears you out, how can it be good for you?Because our bodies adapt to everything we do to them. And as far as your body is concerned, its “use it, or lose it”! Its not that exercise makes you healthy; its more that a lack of exercise leaves your body weak and easily affected by disease.49. What is the main purpose of the selection?A. To give advice on how to stay healthy.B. To provide information about our body.C. To challenge new findings in medical research.D. To report the latest discoveries in medical science. Example 5: 2012年浙江卷Passage DAs a young boy, I sometimes traveled the country roads with my dad. He was a rural mail carrier, and on Saturdays he would ask me to go with him. Driving through the countryside was always an adventure: There were animals to see, people to visit, and chocolate cookies if you knew where to stop, and Dad did. In the spring, Dad delivered boxes full of baby chickens, and when I was a boy it was such fun to stick your fingers through one of the holes of the boxes and let the baby birds peck on your fingers. On Dads final day of work, it took him well into the evening to complete his rounds because at least one member from each fatuity was waiting at their mailbox to thank him for his friendship and his years of service. “Two hundred and nineteen mailboxes on my route,” he used to say, “and a story at every one.” One lady had no mailbox, so Dad took the mail in to her every day because she was nearly blind. Once inside, he read her mail and helped her pay her bills. Mailboxes were sometimes used for things other than mail. One note left in a mailbox read, “Nat, take these eggs to Marian; shes baking a cake and doesnt have any eggs.” Mailboxes might he buried in the snow, or broken, or lying on the ground, but the mail was always delivered. On cold days Dad might find one of his customers waiting for him with a cup of hot chocolate. A young girl wrote letters but had no stamps, so she left a few buttons on the envelope in the mailbox; Dad paid for the stamps. One businessman used to leave large amounts of cash in his mailbox for Dad to take to the bank. Once, the amount came to $ 32,000. A dozen years ago, when I traveled back to my hometown on the sad occasion of Dads death, the mailboxes along the way reminded me of some of his stories. I thought I knew them all, but that wasnt the ease. As I drove home, I noticed two lamp poles, one on each side of the street. When my dad was around, those poles supported wooden boxes about four feet off the ground. One box was painted green, and the other was red, and each had a long narrow hole at the top with white lettering: SANTA CLAUS, NORTH POLE. For years children had dropped letters to Santa through those holes. I made a turn at the comer and drove past the post office and across the railroad tracks to our house. Mom and I were sitting at the kitchen table when I heard footsteps. There, at the door, stood Frank Townsend, Dads postmaster and great friend for many years. So we all sat down at the table and began to tell stories. At one point Frank looked at me with tears in his eyes. “What are we going to do about the letters this Christmas?” he asked. “The letters?” “I guess you never knew.” “Knew what?” “Remember, when you were a kid and you used to put your letters to Santa in those green and red boxes on Main Street? It was your dad who answered all those letters every year.” I just sat there with tears in my eyes. It wasnt hard for me to imagine Dad sitting at the old oak table in our basement reading those letters and answering each one. I have since spoken with several of the people who received Christmas letters during their childhood, and they told me how amazed they were that Santa had known so much about their homes and families. For me, just knowing that story about my father was the gift of a lifetime.60. Which of the following is the best title for the passage? A. The MailB. Christmas Letters C. Special MailboxesD. Memorable Travels Example 6: 2012年浙江卷书面表达你校正在进行“英语读书周”活动。该活动要求学生摘录名言佳句
