Presentation Task A.English speakers speak significantly faster than Mandarin speakers. However, Mandarin speakers convey more information every word. To speak quickly like an English native speaker in English, you need to use linking. First, lets read three sentences. 1. Please pick it up.2. Nice to meet you.3. Thank you.Some of students are wrong. Native speakers are lazy- why say two sounds when you can say one? Linking helps lazy native speakers speak lazily! So Im only going to teach you two rules for linking today.1. Linking rule “blending”: when a word ends in a consonant and the next word begins with a vowel, move the consonant onto the vowel.2. /t/ /d/ /s/ /z/ + /j/ Task B. According to the rule of linking, read the following examples. an apple half an hour come on first of all all of us pick it up Thank you. Task C.1) /t/ + /j/ =/t/Dont you like it?
