Moral objectives:Students could know “Dont judge people by the appearance.”Focal points:New words, sentence patterns and speaking.Difficult points:Describe people in the three aspects: hair, build and height.Teaching procedures:Step 1 Greeting and introduce myselfGood afternoon ,everybody.My names Li Mei. And you can call me Miss Li. Today Im very happy to have a new class with you. We are going to learn Unit 9 What does he look like? Step2 Lead-inPresent two different pictures on the screen and the two pictures are a famous woman star Yang Mi. And ask the ss observe the picture .T: Do you know whos she? Is she beautiful ? What does she look like ?SS:Step 3 New wordsPresent some interesting pictures one by one on the screen and teach new words and phrases and sentence patterns.short hair ,curly hair ,long hair .straight hair ,tall, short ,medium height ,thin ,heavy ,medium build.She has long hair. She has straight hair.= She has long straight hair.She has short hair. She has curly hair.= She has short curly hair.Height:tall, short ,medium height Build:thin ,heavy ,medium build.Hair:short hair ,curly hair ,long hair .straight hairStep4 1aMatch the words with the people in the picture. You can use some letters more than once.After the ss finish it ,check the answers and ask the students to read the new words.Step 5 Guess and describing Present the two different photos of myself on the screen and ask the ss to guess and describe.T: Do you know whos she? SS: Its you .T: What do I look like?SS: Call the ss to describe (I am tall/ short/thin/ heavy.I have short/long/straight/curly hair. I am of medium height /build.)Step6 Listening 1bListen and fill in the blanks in the picture.above. Can you find Amys friend? After listening ,ask the ss the answers ,and read the conversation.Step7 Pairwork 1c One of the people in the picture is your friend.Describe your friend. Your partner will find him or her. Give the example, and ask students to make the conversation.A: What does your friend look like?B:Hes of medium height. He has curly hair.A:Is it e?B:Yes. Youre right.Step 8 SummaryProvide several pictures on the screen and ask the students to describe their favorite stars by using the words and sentence patterns .And then ask students to look at the two different pictures, ask students “can we judge a person by their appearance?” .Finally ,give the students another interesting picture and tell the students dont judge a person by the appearance.Step 9 Homework1.Practice the conversations again after class.2.Prepare next period.3.Remember the new words.Step 10 Blackboard desig
