Knowledge aims:(1) Master the key words and sentences: A:Key words:pool, shop, supermarket, man(pl:men) B:Key sentences: Is Alice playing basketball? No, she isnt. Shes (2)Be able to talk about what people are doing at some places.2.Ability aim:Improve students listening and speaking skills.3.Emotional aim:Cultivate students cooperative spirit.二、Teaching key and difficult points:1. Teaching key points:: 1) Master the key words and sentences. 2) Be able to talk about what people are doing at some places. 3)Master the general question of present progressive tense and how to answer it.2. Teaching difficult points: 1)General questions and answers in the present continuous tense. 2)Improve students listening and speaking skills.三、Teaching procedures:Step. Warming- up and revision1. Review the knowledge on the present progressive tense. Step. Presentation 1. T: Show some pictures on the big screen. Present some new words and expressions. (pool, shop, supermarket, ) 2. Give Ss some time to remember the new words and expressions. Step. Teach Activity 1a1. T: Look at the pictures below. Where are they? What are they doing? Please look at the pictures and fill in the blanks. 2. Let some Ss share their answers with the class and check the answers together.Step. Pair work1. Look at the pictures and ask and answer questions. Give Ss a model:A: Is the man swimming in the river? B: No, he isnt. Hes swimming in a pool. 2. Ss work with their partners. Ask and answer about the pictures. (If necessary, give some help to the Ss.)3. Let some pairs ask and answer about the pictures. (学生展示对话,加分活动). Listening Work on 1c:1. T: Now I will play a recording of a conversation. This time write the places you hear in the chart. 2. Ss listen and write the places. 3. Play the recording again for the Ss to check the answers. Work on 1d: 1. This time, please listen to the recording and write the activities you hear in the chart.2. Play recording and stop the tape if necessary. 3. Play the whole recording and have students write the words they hear in the chart. 4. Check the answers. Step.Consolidation Pair work-1e1. Now lets make a conversation using the information in the chart. Ask some Ss to give a model: S1: Is Alice playing basketball? S2: No, she isnt. Shes 2. Ss work with their partners and make their conversations.3.
