Greet the students as usual.2. Ask students some questions: What do you usually do on the weekend? Do you often help your parents do some housework? What kind of chores do you often to do?3. Show some pictures on the screen and let students talk about what chores they are. ( do the dishes, take out the rubbish, make your bed, cleaning the living room, fold your cloths, sweep the floor, etc.)Step 2 Presentation1. Introduction and new words learningT: Your mothers are always busy because they have lots of chores to do(learn chore). For example, do the dishes, take out the rubbish, make your bed, cleaning the living room, fold your cloths, sweep the floor.Next, teach students new words and phrases one by one.2. T: I dont like sweeping the floor. Could you please sweep the floor?Guide students to answer the question. And give more situations.3. Students work in pairs, ask whether he or she like doing some chores. If not, ask others for help.Help students to make polite requests by using target language: Could you please?Step 3 Listening (1b)1. Review the chores. Then listen to the tape. Who will do the chores? Check Peters mother or peter.2. Listen again ,check the answers.3. Role play the typescript. The boys PK the girls.Step 4. Pair workAsk two students to read the sample dialogue in 1c. then have students to look at the picture on page 17again to find some chores which should be done and ask them to make conversations with their partners.Step 4 Listening (2a,2b)1. Listen and check yes or no in the chart .2. Listen again. Draw lines to the reasons in the chart.3. Check the answers.4. Explain some language points.Step 5 Group WorkMake up different conversations by themselves between Peter and his father about doing chores using the pattern:Could you /I ?Yes/ Sure, I can.Sorry, I / You cant , I /You have to Step 6 Role-play the conversation1. First ,ask two students to act out the conversation.2. Discuss the language points and solve the problems.3. Teacher explain language points to students.Step 7 SummaryHelp students to sum up the usage of could for polite request and permission.Step 8 HomeworkMake a conversation between you and your parents about doing the chores.
